Giovanni Pernice has vowed to stay on Strictly Come Dancing despite backlash from his former dance partners who held a “summit” to discuss his behavior.
The Italian dance professional was thrown into crisis as a trio of famous women reportedly “shed tears” and discussed whether to “formally” complain to the BBC about his interactions with them.
However, the 33-year-old dancer remained defiant, telling the Radio schedules last week he won’t leave the BBC show.
When asked, alongside Strictly judge Anton Du Beke, if they would leave the Ballroom series, he replied: “Why would we do that? We love our job. It’s one of the best shows on television and we can also make our own shows.
Pernice had been partnered with Sherlock actress Amanda Abbington, 52, last year before sensationally quitting the show five weeks later for “personal reasons”.

The Italian dance professional was thrown into a meltdown as a trio of famous women reportedly “shed tears” and discussed whether to “formally” complain about his interactions.
She later claimed she “suffered from PTSD” after her time on the show and filed a complaint with the BBC, which she has since withdrawn.
She recently held an “emotional summit” with Pernice’s former partners Ranvir Singh and Laura Whitmore, where they “compared notes” about their time spent teaming up with him, reports the Sun Sunday.
Abbington was also considering asking an experienced lawyer to help prepare a legal letter to the BBC to help it obtain the rehearsal footage, the newspaper claimed.
“There is every chance that all three could go further and complain officially to the BBC, but for now they are comforting each other,” a source told the newspaper.
“Only a handful of people will understand what it means to be trained by Giovanni and in the industry he is considered a ‘perfectionist’. »
Revelations follow Pernice’s announcement The Sunday Mirror of Abington’s exit from the series: “It’s a shame because, in my opinion, she could have gone all the way…
“I’m 100% a perfectionist, but that comes from a perspective of kindness. I think all professional dancers are in the same place.
But while he is criticized in some quarters, the BBC has thrown its support behind him by promoting his new primetime travel show with Du Beke.

Today, the channel publicized Anton and Giovanni’s adventures in Spain on Instagram, where they shared a video of the two dancing and talking about the new show.
They captioned the clip: “Dancing, singing, Anton and Giovanni know how to act! But what happened in Benidorm… stays in Benidorm…

Pernice shrugged off her latest Strictly crisis as she arrived for her live show on Sunday afternoon, as her breakup with actress Amanda Abbington shows no signs of going away.
The Strictly Come Dancing professional was in high spirits as he arrived at the Milton Keynes Theater for his matinee performance of his live dance show Let Me Entertain You.
Beaming and waving, the dancer waved to fans and happily posed for photos, showing little sign of the latest development in his feud with his ex Strictly partner.
Abbingdon left the series in the fifth week of October. It reportedly took her months to recover from her participation in the program and she apparently needed therapy as a result of the “behavior she was exposed to.”
Speaking about her condition, she said The sun: “I was diagnosed with mild PTSD after Strictly for a number of reasons and I spoke to a few people about it, in confidence, among other things going on in my life at the time, both professionally and personally.”
A BBC spokesperson then refused to comment.
The Mail has contacted the BBC and Amanda Abbington’s representatives for comment.
