It wasn’t the only problem the station had to deal with on election night.
Another moment came when an open microphone was left where a producer appeared to express live his feelings about Elon Musk gaining political power.
The hot mic moment and accidental comment came when host Bret Baier was providing late-night analysis just after 2 a.m. ET.
Fox News had said that former President Donald Trump was on track to be the winner and began talking about what that meant for the US power structure.
“The question is what is the Republican Party like now,” Baier said. ‘It is a multiracial party, according to you, it is working class, and perhaps it is the future. I mean, it’s Elon Musk. It’s Joe Rogan and podcasts.
A voice can be heard murmuring “oh Lord” when Baier mentions Musk’s name.

Musk went all out for the incoming president and attended his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in October, wearing a MAGA hat.
He told the crowd that 2024 would be “the last election” if Trump didn’t win, while promoting the former president’s campaign on his social media platform, X.

Trump has already said he plans to name Tesla billionaire Musk as head of a new committee tasked with the audit. the federal government.
It has not yet detailed how the body would work. The government already has oversight agencies such as the Office of Management and Budget and general investigators in federal agencies.
But Trump has said the Tesla and SpaceX billionaire would head the commission.
Trump said he would seek to decimate what he calls the “deep state” — career federal employees who he claims clandestinely pursue their own agendas — through an executive order that would reclassify thousands of workers to allow them to be fired. This would probably be challenged in court.
He would crack down on federal whistleblowers, who are normally protected by law, and institute an independent body to “monitor” U.S. intelligence agencies.
