A four-year-old girl tragically lost her life after what was supposed to be a game went horribly wrong.

Mi’layah Marie had been jumping on a bed near an open window in her apartment in Shoreline, Washington state, when she lost her balance.

The girl’s mother, Najaha Chancellor, explained that last Sunday she had been caring for her four children alone when one of the children opened her bedroom window.

Mi’layah had been jumping on the bed when she fell against the screen covering the window, which then gave way.

A good Samaritan attempted to give CPR to the girl until first responders arrived, but the girl was seriously injured and died from her injuries after being taken to the hospital.

“I went around the back after I heard someone screaming,” said Andre Alexander, a witness. KIRO. ‘When I got back there, I saw the young girl, the girl had fallen out of the window.

‘There is a young man who is a true hero. “This young man did over four and a half minutes of CPR by himself,” Alexander added.

The medical examiner ruled that the girl died from blunt force trauma caused by the fall.

‘She has a beautiful soul. And never, any of us will get that back,” the mother, Najaha Chancellor, told KIRO.

‘As a mother, it’s your job. It is your job to protect your children at all costs.

‘I’m just trying to stay calm like any mother would. I still have three other children to show that I have to be strong. So crying will make children even more emotional.

‘I’m never going to get over this because it’s different when it’s your child that you lose. It’s absolutely different.’

Chancellor described her daughter as particularly outgoing and expressive, not to mention affectionate.

‘She just made everyone happy, no matter who it was. “Everyone loved her and cared about her,” Chancellor said.

‘He adored the simple things in life, like his favorite fruit, bananas, and his love of water. Swimming was one of his greatest pleasures; He loved to splash around and enjoy the freedom that the water gave him. “Mi’layah was smart, playful and beautiful, and her memory will always be a part of our family,” her mother wrote in a tribute.

Writing on Facebook, Chanellor shared her grief in an online post.

‘I love you Mi’layah Marie, unique and resilient, you were my world, girl. I’m still speechless right now. I can’t find the words to put myself together and say almost a week without eating, barely resting. I wake up at the same time. every day and I’m back all day. “I just wish there was a way back in time,” Chanellor wrote.

The family has created a GoFundMe to help pay for funeral expenses.
