The Channel Seven star, 47, who has since announced he is leaving the network, co-presented Sunrise from 2013 to 2021 alongside David ‘Kochie’ Koch.
Now, former digital producer Alexandria Funnell has revealed on her podcast That’s Showbiz Baby! that she was left “mortified” by an email she received from the TV host.
“There was a little incident I had with Sam Armytage. It was really upsetting,” Alexandria told her co-host Jordy Lucas, a former Neighbours star.
“I had written an article about kindergarteners. It was hilarious.”
Alexandria went on to say that she scheduled the story to air live on social media during prime time from 5 to 6 p.m. to take advantage of the algorithm.
However, she revealed that Samantha was outraged earlier in the day when she realised her segment had not been immediately shared online.
“She thought I had ignored the story, so she sent me a stern email,” Alexandria said, adding that Samantha sent a copy of the message to all of her superiors.

The email allegedly read: ‘Hi Alex, I noticed that the story about the kindergarten kids is not published yet. Is there a reason for this?’
“We work very hard to get these stories, and to see them not posted online is incredibly disappointing. Could you please post them as soon as possible?”
Alexandria said she was “mortified” when she read the email and admitted she “just wanted him to like me.”
Samantha later “apologized” to Alexandria for the message after the podcaster explained to the media personality that she had scheduled the post’s release during prime time.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Samantha for comment.
This comes after the Farmer Wants A Wife presenter shocked fans when she announced her departure from Network Seven on Sunday.
She turned down a new deal with Seven after her current contract expired in October. The Daily Telegraph reported.
Describing the departure as “sad and bittersweet,” she told the publication she felt her time had come and was excited about her future.
Alexandria revealed that Samantha sent her a “stern” message when she didn’t post one of the journalist’s segments on social media quickly enough.
“I rely a lot on instinct. I listen to my instinct. I know when the time comes,” he said.
“I’m proud that I stood up for myself enough to say, ‘I’ve done what I can do here,’ and move on. This isn’t the end. It’s just the end of this chapter.”
Samantha will continue to appear at upcoming Logies, with her show Farmer Wants A Wife nominated for Best Structured Reality Programme.
However, she will not be returning to host the upcoming season of the reality show, which is currently in pre-production. Instead, the reality show’s original host, Natalie Gruzlewski, will return.
