Three girls (two 11-year-olds and one 10-year-old) and a 10-year-old boy were also taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The woman had just left school after attending a two-hour meeting before the accident, but details about the meeting are still unclear, according to 7NEWS.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident, including whether the woman suffered a medical episode while making the U-turn.
