Kate Middleton is not worried about the perceived competition between Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, even after their recent public appearances and tours. According to royal experts, the Princess of Wales, who recently announced she is cancer-free, remains a popular figure globally, outstripping the Sussexes in public interest.
Talking with GB NewsRoyal commentator Gareth Russell stressed that while Harry and Meghan’s recent international tours received positive coverage, they did not attract the same level of attention as official royal visits. “I don’t think the pressure is mounting on the Prince and Princess of Wales in terms of competing with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” he said.
Russell further explained that Kate and Prince William remain more prominent in both Britain and the United States compared to Harry and Meghan. “The Prince and Princess of Wales are figures who, generally speaking, are of much greater interest to most people than the Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” he noted.
While Harry and Meghan’s tours have been hailed as successful, Russell added that they have not generated the same level of public interest as a royal tour led by the Princess of Wales. “We’re still not seeing a massive increase in the amount of public interest in the Sussexes compared to, say, interest in the Princess of Wales,” he continued.
As Kate recovers and resumes her royal duties, Russell predicted that the public’s attention will once again turn to her, especially as she prepares for future royal tours. “I think there will certainly be interest in further royal tours once the Princess of Wales recovers,” he concluded.
Despite the brouhaha surrounding the Sussexes, Kate Middleton remains a dominant figure on the world stage, ready to return to her royal duties with renewed vigor.
