David Beckham may bemoan the fact his wife lives on a diet of grilled fish and steamed vegetables, but Eva Longoria has revealed she makes a great breakfast.
The former Desperate Housewives actress, 49, has a decades-long friendship with the fashion designer, 50, who rarely deviates from her strict diet.
But when it comes to breakfast, he has a talent for making a ‘great’…egg whites and avocado.
“It’s actually easy because we have the same breakfast,” Longoria said. ‘We both love egg whites and avocado. When we’re together… she makes great egg whites and avocado.
‘For dinner, it’s definitely steamed fish. Steamed fish, steamed vegetables. She is easy. In reality it is quite the opposite. Actually, she’s easy, not difficult.’
David Beckham may bemoan the fact his wife relies on a diet of grilled fish and steamed vegetables, but Eva Longoria has revealed she makes an excellent breakfast.
It comes months after Victoria’s husband divulged details about his not-so-sexy diet on the River Cafe Table 4 podcast, in which he said she had been eating grilled fish and steamed vegetables for dinner throughout their marriage.
“I get very excited about food and wine, when I eat something delicious I want everyone to try it,” he said.
‘Unfortunately, I am married to someone who has eaten the same thing for the last 25 years. Since I met her she only eats grilled fish and steamed vegetables, and she rarely deviates from that.
“The only time she probably shared something that was on her mind was when she was pregnant with Harper and it was the most surprising thing.
‘It was one of my favorite nights. I don’t remember what it was, but I know he hasn’t eaten it since.
Victoria previously admitted that she doesn’t eat foods cooked in oil, butter or sauces, and that she doesn’t eat red meat or dairy.
Speaking on the same podcast, the designer said: “For most restaurants, I’m probably their worst nightmare.” I love some steamed vegetables, a little balsamic vinegar and then seasoning myself.
‘I like things to be cooked in a very simple way. I don’t like oils or butters or sauces. This is where I seem even more bored in the food department.’
“It’s actually easy because we have the same breakfast,” Longoria, 49, told DailyMail.com. ‘We both love egg whites and avocado…She makes great egg whites and avocado.’
Longoria, who describes herself as Mexican, said she had 1,000 recipes from her travels in Mexico and decided to consolidate them all into one cookbook.
Victoria also confessed that her comfort food was whole wheat toast with salt and on her birthday she celebrates it with a fruit cake.
She said: ‘I like wholemeal toast with salt. It’s those carbs that make you feel comforted and I love salt.’
The former Spice Girl previously spoke about her love of egg whites and avocado.
In 2017, she posted a video of herself dressed in a white coat while preparing protein-rich breakfast for her team on a work trip to Boston.
Her best friend Longoria’s diet is much more exciting than Victoria’s, and the philanthropist recently released her own cookbook, My Mexican Kitchen: 100 Recipes Rich in Tradition, Flavor, and Spice.

Longoria, who describes herself as Mexican, said she had 1,000 recipes from her travels in Mexico and decided to consolidate them into a cookbook.
“There are a lot of dishes that I added thanks to my husband,” she said before revealing that she cooks tacos for her family three times a week.
“A family favorite is tacos and I know they’re typical, but I love a taco night,” she said. “We could have taco night every night of the week…my family loves tacos.”
Longoria, who lives in Spain, said she does not have a private chef and likes to cook for her husband José Bastón and their six-year-old son Santiago, who she says will eat anything.
