Emma Roberts gives rare insight into her low-key relationship with boyfriend Cody John: ‘We were both sobbing’

Emma Roberts finally opened up about her relationship with boyfriend Cody John on Saturday.

The 33-year-old American Horror Story star, who recently gushed about co-producing a Netflix series with Kim Kardashian, was excited to let her emotions out in a sweet moment she shared with her man.

When asked when was the last time she was moved to tears, the Space Cadet actress explained that it was when she was enjoying a movie night with Cody.

“I watched the movie The Iron Claw with my boyfriend and we were both sobbing,” Roberts told People.

“It was a mess crying and then laughing at each other for crying, which made us cry even more,” she told the outlet.

The blonde beauty and her man confirmed their relationship in August 2022 after they were spotted kissing in New York City.

Just days later, the couple went Instagram official in a photo he posted of them sharing a kiss on a yacht and captioning the snapshot “sweet sweet.”

At the time, a source close to the couple said AND The New York native “is very happy with Cody and they are enjoying their relationship and time together.”

“Their friends and family are happy for them both and think they make a great couple,” the source revealed.

Since then, the couple has been inseparable and has managed to keep their relationship private.

The adorable details of their relationship come just days after Julia Roberts’ niece admitted she no longer wanted to “date actors.”

Before dating the tall hunk who works in the entertainment industry, she dated Alex Pettyfer, Garrett Hedlund, and her American Horror Story co-star Evan Peters.

“I’m trying to think if I’ve seen it done successfully,” she said, referring to her actor father Eric Roberts, who has been married to Crack Me Up star Eliza Garrett for more than 30 years.

“Also, the actors I’ve been with border on method actors, and I think that’s something that’s extremely difficult to have a relationship with, at least for me, especially with the characters they were playing,” she told the outlet.

Emma shares her only child, three-year-old Rhodes, with ex-boyfriend Garrett Hedlund, whom she dated from 2019 to 2022.

She and Hedlund were first linked in April 2019 following her quiet split from Dahmer star Evan Peters.
