After months of anticipation, Elon Musk finally introduced the world to not just one, but two new Tesla vehicles last night.
As expected, the billionaire showed off a fleet of Robotaxis, while also revealing a second surprise vehicle: an autonomous delivery truck, called Robovan.
However, it was Musk’s pronunciation of ‘Robovan’ that really got the crowd talking.
Several bemused Tesla fans took to X (formerly Twitter) after the launch event in Hollywood, with one claiming that Musk’s pronunciation made the Robovan sound “like a herpes medicine.”
“Robovan sounds cool, why do you say it like that?” asked another confused viewer.

The Robovan looks like a huge moving toaster and has no steering wheel, pedals or driver.
It seats 20 people or could be converted to carry goods, Musk said.
However, he did not provide details on production, schedule or cost.
‘What if you need a vehicle larger than a Model 9?’ Musk said at the event, as the Robovan took the stage.
‘The Robovan. Let’s do this and it will look like this.
‘Can you imagine walking down the streets and seeing this coming towards you? That would be crazy!’
After the event, several Tesla fans took to X to discuss Musk’s pronunciation of the vehicle.
One joked: “Creating a robovan and calling it Robovan while pronouncing Rohbohven is a crazy job.”
One user added: “The way Musk pronounces ‘Robovan’ like ‘ruh-BOH-vin’ is killing me, like this has to be a parody of some kind.”
You’d probably expect Robovan to be pronounced like row-arc-van.
However, Musk pronounces it as ruh-bow-vin.

“I loved the way Evil Elon pronounced Robovan because I know for a fact that everyone else will pronounce it Row bow van,” one user tweeted.
Another added: “The way Musk pronounces ‘Robovan’ like ‘ruh-BOH-vin’ is killing me, like this has to be a parody of some kind.”
And one joked: “Creating a robovan and calling it Robovan while pronouncing Rohbohven is a crazy job.”
Meanwhile, one suggested that ruh-bow-vin could be a medicine.

In addition to the Robovan, Musk also introduced a fleet of driverless taxis, called Robotaxis.
“The way Elon pronounces robovan makes it sound like herpes medicine,” they tweeted.
This is not the first time Musk has confused the world with his strange pronunciations.
In 2020, Musk and singer Grimes welcomed a son named X Æ A-12, pronounced ‘X Ash A Twelve.’
Speaking on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Musk said: “First of all, my partner is the one who primarily came up with the name.
‘I mean it’s just X, the letter X, um, and the “‘Æ” is pronounced “Ash”, and then A-12 is my contribution.’
He added that A-12 stood for “Archangel 12, the precursor to the SR-71, the coolest airplane ever created.”
