Hot on the heels of their latest album, Sydney-based electronic trio Rüfüs Du Sol have announced a tour of Australia and New Zealand in 2025.

The You Were Right hitmakers will embark on a six-date tour kicking off in Perth on November 7 next year.

The acclaimed band will then move on to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, before concluding in Auckland on November 29.

Sharing the news on Instagram on Wednesday, the band also revealed that they will be making an announcement regarding UK and European dates on Thursday.

The dance group, made up of Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt, also announced that a reveal in North America will occur “soon.”

The news was met with much joy from their 1.3 million Instagram followers, however, some fans were upset that they had to wait so long to see the trio live.

One fan, assuming the Down Under tour would occur at the end of the band’s 2025 world tour, said the decision not to start in Australia was “confusing”.

“Not gonna lie, I’m just confused why they didn’t start the tour in Australia if they were already home,” they wrote.

‘Why do they make everyone wait until a year from now to see them? I’m not even Australian but I feel bad.’

‘I can’t wait that long,’ wrote another, while a third chimed in: ‘A whole year? My Lord.’

Another fan, referencing the band’s show on Sydney Harbor at sunset last week, was also disappointed by the long wait time.

Tickets for the latter tour were also available a year in advance. “They are playing in November, which is warm weather,” they wrote.

“But yeah, it sucks that they’re literally here and we have to wait a year to get a proper answer.” They did a pussy show in Sydney at the last minute and the rest of us missed it.

During their upcoming tour, the band will be supported by British singer-songwriter SG Lewis.

Tickets for the Australian and New Zealand shows will be available from the artist’s pre-sale on October 22 before general on-sale begins on October 24.

Rüfüs Du Sol will also headline all three stages of the South American version of Lollapalooza in Argentina in March 2025.

Following the success of their fourth studio album Surrender, which reached number one on the ARIA Albums Chart, Rüfüs Du Sol released their highly anticipated follow-up Inhale/Exhale last week.

‘This album is very special for us. “We are incredibly proud of it and what it represents to us as a group,” the Grammy-winning group said of the album.

“We wrote a lot of music together for this project and decided early on that we were trying to create something broader than what we had previously shared.”

‘It’s crazy to think that we’ve been collaborating together on this project for almost fifteen years, to know that we’ve already recorded five albums and we’re just as excited to be making music together now as we were when we started.

In the midst of their new release, Rüfüs Du Sol delighted Australians with an exclusive outdoor performance on Sydney Harbor last week.

Large crowds gathered at Mrs Macquaries Point to hear the dance music group perform at the Royal Botanic Gardens during the ticketed event.

While tickets for this unique concert were in high demand, some lucky fans were able to watch the performance from their luxury boats moored in Sydney Harbour.

The band was known simply as Rüfüs from its inception, before changing its name to Rüfüs Du Sol in the United States, to avoid confusion with the existing funk band Rufus.

They later won an Aria Award in 2015 for Best Dance Release for their single You Were Right.

In 2022, the trio took home a prestigious Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Recording for their song Alive.

The band recently picked up a whopping four nominations at the 2024 Aria Awards, including best dance/electronic release, best video, best Australian live act and best group.
