Hardworking Queensland brothers Rhys and Liam Almond pulled off a spectacular makeover of their tropical backyard and took the win.

Reflecting on his win and new dream home, Liam described the competition as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for his family that also helped him reconnect with his brother.
“Rhys and I are friends, but we’re brothers again and we live under the same roof,” he said.
‘Doing this with Rhys was one of the most meaningful and exciting things about the competition.
“We leave this feeling very proud of every moment and we both came out as winners.”

The cash prize was the icing on the cake for the brothers, as Rhys sacrificed time with his young family to help Liam after rising interest rates put Liam’s renovation plans on hold.
“Reducing my mortgage by $100,000 will be life-changing for me and my family, and that means a lot to me,” Rhys said.
Dream Home judges Lana Taylor, Simon Cohen and Rosie Morley unanimously praised the couple’s backyard design and layout.
“Guys, I felt like I had stepped into a true oasis. You have created a tropical dream, perfect for a Queensland setting,” Lana said.
