Disney Experiences President Josh D'Amaro announced the park's upcoming expansion called Villain's Land at the D23 Expo on August 10.

Disney World will expand Magic Kingdom by adding a dedicated area called Villains Land.

President of Disney Experiences Josh D’Amaro announced The upcoming park expansion at D23 Expo.

“This land will be home to the villains you know and those you hate, which means a happy ending… It may seem like just a distant dream,” D’Amaro said.

He added that Villains Land will be “a bold new vision of what a Disney experience can be.”

Construction is set to begin in 2025, but D’Amaro did not reveal an opening date for what is considered the biggest change to Disney World in 53 years.

Disney teased the Villains Land attraction at D3 Expo 2022 through concept art and multiple interviews over the past few years.

“From the beginning, our Disney Villains have given us endless possibilities to tell new stories,” D’Amaro said.

Villains Land will not only feature two main attractions, but will also include additional shopping and dining options.

It remained silent on which antagonists Villain’s Land will focus on, but its concept art featured a roller coaster track and a fire-breathing Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.

“This is grand-scale storytelling that only Disney can deliver,” D’Amato said during the announcement.

“So prepare yourselves, you poor, unfortunate souls.”

D’Amaro described two other new attractions coming to Magic Kingdom that are dedicated to Cars, a 2006 Pixar film set in a world of vehicles.

Both will be located in Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland. One will direct guests away from the roads, while the other will be geared toward families with small children.

“We’re leaving Radiator Springs behind and heading into the desert,” D’Amaro said.

‘The American West has always been about keeping your eyes on the horizon… believing in yourself, forging your own path and striving for success.’

D’Amaro added that construction on these Cars-themed attractions will begin in 2025.

Another new feature at Magic Kingdom is a parade led by the Blue Fairy, featuring characters from Charming, Frozen and Peter Pan.

It is scheduled to debut in the park next summer.

Other attractions being added to theme parks within the Orlando tourist draw include Monsters Inc Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Encanto and Indiana Jones-themed attractions at Animal Kingdom and a Spaceship Earth Lounge at Epcot.
