A furious employee has told of the cruel moment she discovered she had been fired from her job via text message on her wedding day.

The British bride said she received the shocking WhatsApp message from her boss just 30 minutes after walking down the aisle.

“On my wedding day, half an hour after the ceremony, I received a text message from my boss telling me I had been fired,” the woman said. The Ben Askins Show.

What was supposed to be the happiest day of her life quickly ended in misery when she opened her phone and found the message in question.

“Hi, I hope your wedding went well and you had a good time,” her boss’s text message read.

‘I just wanted to let you know that the decision to terminate you has unfortunately been made. An email has been sent to your personal email address with details regarding this.

‘I’m very sorry it didn’t work out and I wish you all the best for the future.’

Surrounded by family and friends, the bride struggled to contain her emotions as she quickly checked her emails.

“I hope your wedding went well and you had a good time. This email is to inform you that your employment will be terminated effective May 20th,” the message read.

‘Your employment has been terminated because we regrettably believe that your performance does not meet the expectations we require for the position.’

The employee explained that she felt the manager’s email was a “cowardly way” to fire her while she was not at work.

“I wasn’t going to let it go, but what they did… I got really mad at them,” he said.

“They had the opportunity to do it in person. Everyone was fired in person, except me.”

Askins said her case was one of the “worst things” she had ever heard of.

“It’s supposed to be one of the best, most amazing days ever, and that’s what you’ve accomplished,” he told the employee.

“You have every right to be absolutely furious with them.”

The employee said she believed a casual conversation that occurred just weeks before she left for her wedding may have led to her firing.

She claimed her boss asked her if she “planned on having children,” to which she “unfortunately said yes.”

Askins’ video has been viewed more than 600,000 times, with many particularly criticising the girlfriend’s boss for being “petty” and “inappropriate”.

“This person could have waited a day. They do this on purpose to ruin your special day. Only narcissists would do that,” one said.

Another added: “The fact that he texted her to let her know about the email is so petty. He wanted her to know on her wedding day.”

Meanwhile, some shared their wild stories of how they received the terrible news about their jobs.

“I was fired over the phone as I was leaving my mother’s funeral. My absence was ‘an inconvenience to the company,'” one said.
