Australian drivers looking for a respite from rising petrol prices amid a national cost of living crisis can fill up their tank for less than $1 per liter for a limited time.
Queues are expected to stretch around Metro Petroleum on Bellevue Rd in Figtree, near Wollongong, on Tuesday afternoon.
The service station will offer petrol, gas and diesel at 99 cents per liter from 3pm to 5pm in partnership with gifting company Dreams Come True (DCT).
The discounted price at the pump is just over half the current cost of the cheapest unleaded option, E10, at the Figtree petrol station, which was 187p per liter on Monday night.
Drivers will be able to fill up their cars with petrol, diesel and petrol for just 99 cents per liter at Metro Petroleum in Figtree between 3pm and 5pm on Tuesday.
It comes just a week after DCT partnered with Metro Petroleum at Punchbowl for the same promotion.
At the event, one driver brought a 600-litre fuel tank, while others brought jerry cans to fill and store for later.
The discount was even more drastic last week: The Punchbowl location was costing drivers 192.7 cents before the discount was imposed.
While DCT offers regular freebies for members, which cost at least $19.90 a month, the promotion is for anyone who can fill in during the two-hour limit.
The company recently announced it would run the 99 cents per liter promotion every first Tuesday of the month, in line with the RBA’s cash rate decision.
But DCT founder Jon Tsingolas was so excited by last week’s success at Punchbowl that he will go ahead with the discounted fuel offer for the second week in a row.
Tuesday’s deal on Figtree will be available to all drivers, not just paying members as noted above.
The next location will be somewhere in Victoria on June 4th and will move to Queensland on July 2nd.
Drivers are expected to queue to take advantage of the two-hour promotion at similar scenes seen at Punchbowl in Sydney’s southwest last week (pictured).
