Democrat Cori Bush is now at risk of being expelled from Congress after Jamaal Bowman’s crushing primary defeat, a bombshell poll reveals.

Another member of Congress’ most leftist bloc is at risk of being unseated by a moderate Democrat as his rival mounts a major comeback.

Cori Bush, one of the members of the progressive House ‘team’ representatives, is in a tie with St. Louis County Attorney Wesley Bell, according to a new poll.

The poll of 400 registered voters in Missouri’s 1st District by The Mellman Group put Bush at 42 percent, behind Bell’s 43 percent.

The Mellman Group is the same pollster that correctly predicted Jamaal Bowman’s 16.8-point beating on Tuesday.

The April poll gave Westchester County Executive George Latimer a 52 to 35 percent lead over Bowman.

Bush suddenly finds himself in a street fight with Bell after appearing confident in January, when she was ahead 45 percent to 29 percent.

However, the poll is not conducted by a nonpartisan pollster, as Mark Mellman is the president of DMFI PAC, a lobbying group trying to elect pro-Israel Democrats.

“As voters learn more about Cori Bush’s record in Washington opposing the Biden-Harris agenda, they are choosing Wesley Bell to represent them in Congress,” he said of the poll.

There was more bad news in the poll, conducted June 18-22, as 11 percent of respondents are undecided and the momentum is on Bell’s side.

“Bell’s vote and margin increased across all major demographic groups: among whites and blacks, among men and women, among those over and under 50, and both inside and outside the city of St. Louis,” Melman said.

‘This primary race is essentially tied, but it is clearly moving in Wesley Bell’s direction.’

Mellman said Bush was still viewed favorably, but evaluations of her and her performance were moving in a negative direction.

“Bell’s image is improving, which leaves him with an underlying image advantage,” he said.

‘Bell has an advantage over Bush in both favorability and job performance ratings.

“A majority of 61 percent rate Bell positively for the work he does as St. Louis County prosecutor, while only 27 percent offer negative ratings.”

Many ‘Squad’ members like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar and Summer Lee are in safe districts and faced little to no primary opposition.

But Bowman and Bush were vulnerable to attacks from the deep pockets of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.

The donor group spent $20 million opposing Bowman, making it the most expensive House primary in history.

Most members of the voting bloc are staunchly pro-Palestinian and have strongly criticised the Israeli government’s conduct during its bombing and invasion of Gaza.

Bowman had the additional problem that his district has a significant Jewish population that was put off by his criticism.

But many Democrats believed Bowman was ruining his own chances by failing to effectively represent his constituents.

“I think he became his own worst enemy,” said Congresswoman Lois Frankel. political.

Congressman Brad Schneider agreed: ‘I see him as a member who did not represent the people who sent him there. And they made the decision that they wanted a different representative.”

Democrats noted that most of the advertising AIPAC ran was not about Bowman’s position on Israel, but instead focused on Latimer being a better legislator.

Bush also has specific issues with her, as she is being investigated by the Justice Department over her campaign spending on security.

She hired her now-husband Cortney Merritts as a security guard at a cost of tens of thousands of dollars.

Bush denied wrongdoing and said a report by the congressional ethics watchdog cleared her of any wrongdoing.
