David Beckham collected his first egg from the chickens his wife Victoria gave him on Friday for Christmas.
The former footballer, 48, traveled to his £6million farm in the Cotswolds to check on his flock after some of his birds started laying eggs earlier this week.
David took to Instagram on Friday to share the moment he found his first egg after spending hours researching the best way to cheer up his chickens.
In a video, David told fans: “I’ve come to check for eggs because I haven’t actually been here to see and witness the first egg, so I’ve come back now and let’s take a look.”
‘They were placed on top, I did a bit of research and changed a few things, guess what? “This is the first time they have set up there, which is very exciting.”

For Christmas, Victoria set up a pen for David to add to his hives on their sprawling property.
The fashion designer proudly showed off the Beckham chicken breeding with rooster on Instagram.
Speaking behind the camera, Victoria showed off the chicken coop in the garden of her Cotswolds home and asked: ‘What did you get for Christmas, David?
‘Some chickens and a rooster,’ the footballer responded while his wife continued: ‘Beckham’s chickens.’
Victoria joked: “There’s a really huge cock in there too” before branding her new feathered friends “camera shy”.
