UFC president Dana White has revealed that former US President Donald Trump spoke to him ahead of Tuesday night’s presidential debate against Vice President Kamala Harris.
The first presidential debate between Harris and Trump was rife with verbal attacks, as the two candidates attacked each other’s records and took little time to explain their policies.
White, who was promoting his ‘Contender Series’, was asked about the debate at a press conference.
“I haven’t seen him, but I’m telling you: he called me an hour before the debate,” White said.
“I talked to him on the way here, right when we got off the plane. He was in Los Angeles today. First of all, this is the second time he’s had to debate. He’s already had one debate,” White said, referring to the first debate held in the summer between Trump and President Joe Biden.

According to White, Trump said he viewed the debate as “a heavyweight fight.”
‘They didn’t like how the debate turned out. They want to kick that guy out. He’s not fit to run, but he’s still the president of the United States. Now they’re bringing in someone who wasn’t elected to be there.
‘They’ll only do it on ABC. Tonight it was three to one. He was up against three to one. I don’t know how it happened or what happened, but I know he took it seriously.
“He said, ‘I see this as a heavyweight fight. I don’t take anyone lightly.'”
Asked if he gave any advice to the former president, White said: “I’ll keep that between him and me.”
Harris, who was elected vice president and officially nominated by the Democratic Party in the summer, was declared the winner over Trump in DailyMail.com’s early debate poll after last night’s verbal sparring match.
Following the debate, Taylor Swift, the girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, announced she would support Harris for the post.
It is unclear whether there will be another debate in the run-up to the November election.
