Ahmad Alissa is pictured in court on Monday, shortly before he was sentenced for killing 10 people in a March 2021 massacre at a King Soopers supermarket in Boulder, Colorado.

A mentally ill gunman who shot and killed 10 people at a Colorado supermarket has been found guilty of murder.

Ahmad Alissa was found guilty Monday afternoon by jurors in the March 2021 Boulder bloodbath and faces life in prison.

Alissa’s lawyers had sought to plead not guilty by reason of insanity. He has been diagnosed with schizophrenia.

The convicted killer remained composed as the verdict was read out, speaking quietly to his defense team upon learning he could now face life behind bars.

Relatives of the victims wept silently in the courtroom.

During the mass shooting, Alissa opened fire immediately after exiting his car in the parking lot.

Most of his victims were shot dead within 60 seconds.

He stopped and surrendered only when an officer shot him in the leg.
