Fans attending Ed Sheeran’s recent concert at a stadium in Romania were in for an unexpected, star-studded surprise when Chris Hemsworth took to the stage.
The Thor actor, better known for wielding a hammer than drumsticks, wowed the crowd as he played drums alongside Sheeran in front of 70,000 ecstatic fans.
The surprise collaboration came about after Hemsworth reached out to Sheeran last December.
The Australian actor, who has been working on a documentary focusing on cognitive health and the benefits of learning to play an instrument, decided to take up the challenge and learn to play the drums.
As part of his trip, Hemsworth visited the British singer for some personal drum lessons, and the result was nothing short of spectacular on stage.
On Sunday, Ed took to Instagram to share a video of the incredible moment.
In the video, the singer explained: ‘We’re here in Bucharest, basically what’s happening is that Chris sent me an email last December saying he was making a documentary about cognitive health and the benefits of learning to play an instrument.
‘She came to visit me, learned to play the drums and now Cindy is going to get up on stage in front of 70,000 people.’

The crowd erupted in applause and cheers as Hemsworth played alongside Sheeran’s band throughout the performance.
Sheeran, clearly proud of his friend’s musical debut, encouraged the audience, urging them to: “Make some noise for Chris Hemsworth! Give him a big round of applause, lads! They really did great.”
Hemsworth’s drumming skills were rewarded with a special “Participation Award,” humorously handed out by Sheeran’s team.
The award, dubbed the ‘Drum Excellence Participation Award’, was a playful recognition of the actor’s efforts and dedication to learning a new skill.
The actor’s surprise appearance at the concert went viral, with fans flooding social media with praise for both Hemsworth’s drumming and Sheeran’s generous spirit in sharing the stage.
