A pair of exhausted gym-goers pulled a cheeky stunt at their local Morrison’s when they filmed themselves sharing a bottle of fizz while relaxing in a furniture display in the store.

Danny Cathe, 31, and Joey Baker, 27, had finished a grueling gym session when they spotted an outdoor table and chairs set up under a gazebo at the Blackpool branch of Morrisons.

As the couple sipped protein shakes, they were soon sitting on the display cabinet drinking £9.99 sparkling white wine from plastic wine glasses.

The young people, who posted the video on Facebook, where it racked up 750,000 views, say they have since been bombarded with messages from fans who were impressed by its spontaneity.

Joey’s footage shows Danny, who is eating the school cake, pouring the alcohol into one of the display glasses before the two friends touch the glasses and toast “to Morrisons”.

The bachelor boasts that since the April 17 stunt he has had between 30 and 40 birds contact him on the social media platform.

Some users even tagged their friends and suggested they do the same for a “cheap night out.”

Danny, from Blackpool, Lancashire, said: “So I had a protein shake and a school cake, but we needed to sit down because we were knackered after gym.”

‘We saw these seats set up and sat down, then we looked to the side of the table and there was some sparkling wine.

‘We looked at each other like ‘should we?’ Then we opened it up and Joey filmed it. We finished about half a bottle.

‘We got some funny looks in the store but it was all ironic and the staff left us like that because I think they were too busy stocking the shelves.

‘I’m single, see, and (Joey) is busy. After uploading it, I realized that he must have received between 30 and 40 friend requests, all of them from birds. He has done me quite well.

The cheeky couple say they have since returned to Morrisons but were disappointed to see the display cabinet had been removed.

Car salesman Joey, 37, posted the comment “Beautiful day for it” below the post.

One user commented: ‘It’s funny. You should have told them to turn up the music.

A second said: “Cheap night out.”

A third even tagged a mate and asked: ‘Fancy a walk to Morrisons?’

Morrisons declined to comment.
