Charli XCX revealed that she was worried that Lorde

Charli XCX revealed she was worried Lorde would “never talk to me again” after not telling the Ribs singer about her song Girl, So Confusing.

The singer, 32, who is currently under fire for producing “terrible quality” products, explained to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 that she didn’t tell her friend about the song, which is said to be about their relationship, until the day before its release.

“I was ready for her to never speak to me again. “That could have been the result,” he shared on Tuesday.

In the song she sings: ‘Sometimes I think I might hate you / Maybe you just want to be me and ‘People say we’re alike / They say we have the same hair / We talk about making music / But I don’t.’ I don’t know if it’s honest.

The Boom Clap hitmaker confirmed that the record touches on the ambivalent feelings she had towards the 27-year-old throughout their careers.

Earlier this year, she told Rolling Stone that she was “jealous” of the success Lorde (real name Ella Yelich-O’Connor) achieved with her mega-hit Royals that launched her to stardom in 2013.

She told the outlet: ‘I was very jealous of the success they (Royals) got and Ella got.

“You put all these things together in your brain, like, ‘She liked my music. She had long hair; I had long hair. She wore black lipstick; I once wore black lipstick.” You create these parallels and think, “Well, that could have been me.”

On Tuesday, he said that a day before the U.S. release of his Brat album, which features his song Girl, So Confusing, he called Lorde to explain.

But the New Zealand-born singer had already heard the song due to the time difference.

Charli also revealed that the Team singer already knew Girl, So Confusing was about her.

The English singer recalled the moment, saying: “She was like, ‘I can guess which one it is.’ And then I was like, ‘Fuck.’ But she was so cool and I was like, ‘We sent these voice notes back and forth.'”

Lorde then suggested that she might remix the track.

Charli explained: “She was like, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if I did this answer?’ And I was like, ‘Oh my God. I can’t believe this is happening. Yes.” And it was very fast.

“I mean, she said that I think on Friday, and she sent me the thing, the verse on Monday.”

Lorde’s lyrics in her performance read: “Well, honestly, I was speechless / When I woke up to your voice note / You told me how you’d been feeling / Let’s work out the remix.”

She also touched on her battle with body dysmorphia, expressing: “I was so lost in my head / And I was afraid to be in your photos / ‘Cause for the last two years / I’ve been at war with my body / I tried to die of hunger to lose weight / And then I gained all the weight back.’
