A day of celebration got off to a rocky start for Isaac Quaynor as the Collingwood star marked his 100th cap for the Pies.
The gun advocate took to the field for last week’s game against the Gold Coast Suns, with the cheerleading squad’s banner dedicated to their championship-winning star.
At least, one can only assume the cheerleading squad was referring to their defender, having misspelled his name on the giant banner.
Instead of saying ‘Isaac Quaynor’, the sign read: ‘Issac Quaynor’.
It was a bad omen for Quaynor and the Pies, who lost the game after blowing their lead against the Suns in the fourth quarter.
The way they capitulated has sparked debate over whether prime ministers have lost their “aura” when it comes to closing down parties.

The defending champions were celebrating their 100th game last weekend.
“They’ve done it to us a few times in the past (storming at home late in games) and we know and respect what a good team they are,” the former No. 1 overall pick said Thursday.
‘They’ve been a great team for a long time and we’re preparing for them at their best.
“We know what strategies they use in the final stages of the game, but knowing that is one thing and trying to stop them and slow them down is quite another. We are prepared for that.”
