Department store giant Bunnings is among the companies hit by Microsoft’s global crisis.
Woolworths, Qantas, major banks and major media companies were hit by a wave of repeated computer failures at around 3pm on Friday.
The catastrophic technological failure was caused by an update by antivirus firm Crowdstrike for Windows machines.
Point of sale machines at Bunnings have been affected, shoppers complained.
Bunnings has confirmed it has been affected by the technology outage
“Computer and till issues at local Bunnings and Woollies stores,” one shopper said.
“Oh, that explains what happened when I was in Bunnings,” said another.
Bunnings chief information officer Gen Elliott told Daily Mail Australia: “We are aware of an issue affecting some of our store tills and apologise to customers for the disruption.
“This is due to an issue with a third-party vendor that is impacting multiple organizations. We are working with our vendor to address this issue as a priority and thank customers for their patience.”
