Bronny James played his first game with the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday afternoon.

Bronny was selected by the Lakers with the 55th pick in last month’s NBA Draft, becoming the first player to be selected while his father is an active player.

His dad may be with the U.S. Olympic team in Las Vegas, but Bronny wasted no time donning the iconic yellow and purple jersey for the Lakers’ Summer League game against the Sacramento Kings in San Francisco.

Bronny wore oversized headphones and looked so much like his famous father during warm-ups that it caused some people at Chase Center to do a double take.

James missed his initial two shots while playing six minutes in his first series of action, grabbing a defensive rebound 1 minute, 20 seconds into the game and then missing a 21-foot jumper moments later.

He came up short on a 26-foot 3-point attempt at 4:23 of the first quarter before taking a breather.

If all goes according to plan, the 19-year-old and his father will become the first father-son duo to play in the NBA at the same time, and on the same team no less.

Bronny is the eldest son of NBA scoring great LeBron James. He survived a cardiac arrest on July 24 during an informal team workout at USC and was later determined to have a congenital heart defect.

Young James signed a four-year contract that will pay him $7.9 million.

“The amount of pressure has definitely increased,” Bronny said last week when he was formally introduced by the Lakers.

‘I’ve seen it on social media and on the internet and stuff like that, talking about how maybe I don’t deserve a chance.

“But I’ve had to deal with this kind of stuff all my life. It’s nothing different. It’s more intense, for sure, but I can get through it.”
