Sabrina Carpenter had fans mentioning Britney Spears as she took a dig at the pop star’s former rival Christina Aguilera in a new video.
The duo delighted fans by taking part in a fun clip posted by the Dirrty singer on her social media channels.
The glamorous pop stars looked like best friends as they shared a pink sofa, with audio of Kylie Jenner gushing over her mother Kris Jenner playing.
But some fans couldn’t help but mention Spears in the comments of Christina’s TikTok video.
“Britney left the group,” posted one.

One referenced Britney’s recent video where she questioned Sabrina’s kiss with an alien onstage during the VMAs.
“Is this after Britney’s video, girl?” they wrote.
Carpenter, as well as Megan Thee Stallion and Tate McRae, made references to the Princess of Pop during last week’s MTV VMAs.
In the middle of the Espresso singer’s performance at the ceremony, she performed a snippet of Spears’ song, Oops!…I Did It Again and also kissed an alien on stage, seemingly referencing Britney and Madonna’s 2003 kiss.
In a clip posted to her Instagram, Britney admitted she didn’t watch the show, but did see snippets on YouTube, including Sabrina’s performance.
“Why is she kissing an alien on stage?” the star asked, but added: “I adore her. I love her to death.”
“I didn’t understand that part. Why didn’t he kiss a girl? That was weird. But I also thought the whole thing was kind of weird in general…”

Towards the end of the video, Britney continued: “But I thought it was cool that Sabrina Carpenter said something about me.”

The star then showed a surprised expression and joked: “Thanks, that’s great. She made me great. Well, maybe not.”
During her onstage performance at the 2024 MTV VMAs, Carpenter sang the lyrics to three hit songs: Please Please Please, Taste, and Espresso.
While accompanied by an alien, she also danced alongside dancers dressed as astronauts. This was apparently another reference to Spears and her music video Opps!…I Did It Again, which also featured an astronaut.
Meanwhile, Sabrina recently collaborated with Christina for a project celebrating the 25th anniversary of the legend’s 1999 debut album, Christina Aguilera.
Sabrina and Machine Gun Kelly sang with Christina for an upcoming Spotify Anniversaries episode honoring the original album.
