Fox News host Bret Baier revealed some difficult details about his interview with Kamala Harris, including that she was late to their meeting.
The vice president’s team also tried to shorten the time allotted for the interview, the host complained during an on-air conversation about his talk after it aired.
Baier said members of Harris’ campaign waved their arms frantically as they pushed to end the pre-recorded interview.
“We were supposed to start at 5:00 p.m., that was the time they gave us,” Baier explained of his interview with the Democratic presidential candidate.
‘Originally we were going to do 25 or 30 minutes, they came and said ‘maybe 20’. So it was already shrinking.”

“And then the vice president showed up around 5:15; we were pushing to be able to turn it around at 6 o’clock.”
“That’s how it all started,” he continued. “And when we started talking I realized it was going to be difficult, you know, to redirect her without me trying to interrupt her.”
Baier grilled the vice president for 20 minutes during her first interview with the conservative news network, recorded in Pennsylvania on Wednesday and broadcast 30 minutes later.
The host detailed how Harris’ team desperately tried to get the interview to end as things heated up.
“I’m talking, like, four people waving their hands like ‘it’s got to stop,'” Baier described to his Special Report panel in detailing how the interview ended.
“In the end I had to dismount there,” Baier shrugged.
He added: “There are so many things and maybe I should do more of these.”
Vice President Harris and Baier clashed over several topics during their interview, including the issue of the southern border.
Trump praised Baier for his “tough but very fair” interview with Harris and said the meeting is further proof that her “inferior cognitive ability needs to be put to the test.”
Baier asked the 59-year-old about multiple topics, including immigration, which was one of the topics the two argued about.
Harris told the Fox host “you have to let me finish” as she pressed her on the hot topic, trying to get her to answer very specific questions rather than return to some of her talking points.
Donald Trump congratulated Baier on his “tough but very fair interview” after MAGA social media users speculated before its broadcast that Fox would edit the Democratic presidential candidate favorably.
Trump wrote on X and his social media site Truth Social: “Great job by Bret Baier on his interview with liar Kamala Harris.” He has a massive, hopeless case of TRUMP DISORDER SYNDROME.
He added that Baier’s interview “clearly showed how totally incompetent Kamala is” and insisted that her “inferior cognitive ability must be proven.”
