Bottomless beer and taco festival descends into chaos and Mexican food fans are furious and now demanding refunds

A beer and taco festival in California has descended into chaos after thousands of angry food fans were left feeling severely disappointed by the spread.

The West Coast Taco and Beer Festival in the San Francisco Bay Area promised unlimited tacos and unlimited samples of beer, kombucha, seltzer and cider on Saturday.

Excited attendees paid $50 for standard admission to the event, expecting free, high-quality Mexican food from 30 vendors.

But attendees were met with a ridiculously long line to get in, no free food, and only four taco stands, which ran out of food in just 20 minutes.

One deeply disappointed customer called the event, held in San Francisco’s Dogpatch neighborhood, “a complete and utter rip-off.”

A beer and taco festival in California descended into chaos after thousands of angry food fans were deeply disappointed by the spread and had to wait in line for more than an hour.

The West Coast Taco and Beer Festival in the San Francisco Bay Area promised unlimited tacos and unlimited samples of beer, kombucha, seltzer and cider on Saturday.

“There are no free tacos, not even tacos to ‘taste,’ so you’re basically throwing your money away by being in a small space with a lot of other angry people,” he wrote in a scathing Yelp review.

“What a rip-off and misleading advertising!” raged another indignant customer, criticising the lack of free samples and the “very long queues” to get in.

“The audacity of charging people almost $100 just to get in, and then if you want food you have to pay for it,” they said.

Another customer who said he spent a whopping $188 on two “VIP tickets” revealed that even the taco vendors were confused.

“They were only notified that morning about the free tacos,” they wrote. “The beer sample consisted of about two inches of beer at the bottom of a glass.”

Matt Jenkins, who attended the event with his fiancée, said Abc7 They waited in line for an hour for the exasperating event.

“They only had one person checking tickets at the front door, which was crazy,” Jenkins said.

“I don’t know, there were probably more than 1,000 people waiting in line.”

“We had heard that after the first 20 minutes all the free options were gone,” he added. “But no one had managed to get in before the time of the offer came.”

Another critic slammed organizer Brandon Mozley, calling him a “scam artist.” “I’m not very happy,” he wrote. “A one-star event.”

Mozley has said he is accepting refund requests, while the company behind the event, Blue Stream Entertainment, released a statement responding to the outrage.

“We are saddened to hear the reaction we have had to coming to San Francisco,” the firm said.

‘When we started this company, our mission was to bring a community together to celebrate local chefs and breweries.

‘We are being as transparent as we can be and understand the community’s frustration with long lines and limited tastings.

‘We are currently working with our suppliers to enhance future events and ensure we deliver on our mission statement and enhance the guest experience.’

Angry customers have pointed out that the company is also hosting an event scheduled for later this month in San Diego.

People were urged to avoid disappointment by boycotting the Brunch on the Bay Festival, scheduled for August 24.
