An angry customer has shared the moment an Australia Post worker sped past his house without stopping to deliver his express package.

The postman’s white delivery van was seen driving directly past the man’s home in Auchenflower, in Brisbane’s inner west, shortly before 11.30am on Monday.

The driver was seen slowing down while holding his phone out the window to take a photo of the man’s mailbox before speeding down the street.

“The express mail was not delivered today. I must have been late for an appointment,” the customer wrote in the Reddit video.

The customer, who did not want to reveal his name, told Daily Mail Australia that he was at home when the driver passed by.

He said the package contained parts for an air conditioner and he had paid extra to have it delivered on a rush basis so the installer could set up the new system.

“I’ve been home all day because I’m taking care of the kids and it’s a pain to load the kids into the car and drive to the post office to pick up the package,” she said.

He said he received a notification on his phone saying he was not home when the driver arrived, prompting him to contact Australia Post and file a complaint.

“I wanted them to at least call him and tell him to come back and deliver the package, but they apparently can’t do that and that’s frustrating,” she said.

The man explained that delivery drivers no longer have to leave a note to inform customers that they missed their delivery time.

Instead, drivers simply take a photo of the mailbox at the address before customers are notified to pick up their packages at the nearest post office.

The furious customer was forced to collect the package himself on Wednesday from the Toowong Business Centre.

He said Australia Post staff, including the case manager assigned to deal with his complaint, were helpful in assisting him with his investigation.

She also uploaded an email from the case manager, showing that an investigation had been conducted into the matter.

“We have investigated the issue of no delivery attempts with Pinkenba Package Delivery Center,” the email states.

“They have confirmed that this has been addressed with the staff involved and appropriate steps have been taken to ensure this does not happen again.”

Dozens of commenters expressed sympathy for the man, with many sharing their own experiences of horror births on the Reddit thread.

“I was at home all day and the driver didn’t even come to my house and went straight to the post office. It was also supposed to be an express delivery,” one person wrote.

Others said they were assigned a new delivery driver to their route when they filed a complaint stating their packages were not delivered.

“I agree with this. I’ve already sent pictures of (Australia Post) contractors doing the same thing and suddenly I have a new delivery person,” one person said.

Australia Post charges customers between $14.45 and $31.35 to deliver parcels via express delivery, depending on the size of the package.
