Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney are feuding with former Something About Her chef Penny Davidi Borsuk over the sandwich shop’s trademark after she filed a lawsuit against them over their failed “partnership.”
The Vanderpump Rules stars have split from Penny, an executive chef who was named COO and culinary director of Something About Her, ahead of the grand opening in May 2024 after a money dispute.
But before she was fired, Penny and her attorney husband Jonathan Lee Borsuk filed for the trademark Something About Her through their company Put A Fork In It LLC in August 2023. They reportedly had approval from Madix and Maloney to do so.
Despite no longer working for Madix and Maloney, Chef Penny has retained ownership of the pending trademark.
Something About Her was published in the May 28, 2024 issue of Official Trademark Bulletin — give anyone the opportunity to object within 30 days from the date of publication before a Notice of Approval is issued, according to the guidelines.
And now DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal that Madix and Maloney hit back at Chef Penny by filing an opposition through their lawyer on June 25.

The reality TV stars were also granted a 90-day extension to object.
Weeks later, Madix and Maloney’s attorney followed through and filed a new trademark for Something About Her on July 9.
The documents reveal that in addition to the restaurant, the business partners plan to add Something About Her fragrances, candles, phone cases, handbags, clothing and even catering services.
These latest details in the Something About Her saga come less than a week after Chef Penny sued Maloney and Madix, according to TMZ.
Penny alleges that Madix and Maloney have not lived up to their end of a business agreement they made surrounding her role at the restaurant.
PEOPLE reports that Penny has accused the duo of not honoring the stipulations of their written “partnership.”
Penny alleges she was guaranteed a 10% stake in June 2023 if she helped develop and manage the restaurant.

Because of this agreement, he claims he did a considerable amount of work to get the restaurant up and running. This work included filing trademark registrations for the restaurant.
Penny says that until January she was scheduled to receive a salary of $7,500 a month. In January, her pay was set to increase to $10,000 a month.
Now, however, Penny claims that Madix and Maloney have denied ever having such a relationship with her.
She now hopes that a judge will uphold the terms of the settlement and that she will receive the compensation she is owed.
Something About Her is finally set to open in West Hollywood in May 2024 after two years of unexpected delays.
In April, Maloney revealed that she and Madix were no longer working with Borsuk.
“No, we’re not working with Penny anymore,” she said on the Popping Off podcast with Teddi Mellencamp and Emily Simpson.
While he didn’t share much about his departure, he said the partnership ultimately wasn’t the right fit.

“You know, we loved working with Penny, and Penny was great, but in the end it just wasn’t the right choice,” Maloney said.
Borsuk, executive chef, has also worked with Madix and Maloney’s former employer, Lisa Vanderpump.
Penny worked with Lisa at both Pump Lounge and Tom Tom.
On her website, she states that she works as a culinary specialist and new business manager for Sysco Foods.
