ALISON BOSHOFF: Sharon Stone vows to leave US if Donald Trump is elected president in November

Sharon Stone, 66, said this week that she is considering buying a home in Italy if the 78-year-old Republican candidate returns to the White House.

They say politics is a show for ugly people, but Hollywood’s beautiful people have become deeply involved in the recent political turmoil in the United States.

George Clooney hosted a fundraiser for President Joe Biden and then urged him to resign days before he did.

Since then, Jamie Lee Curtis and singer Katy Perry have endorsed Biden’s vice president, Kamala Harris, and Robert De Niro has also weighed in, saying: “There is nothing more important to our country than defeating Donald Trump at the ballot box.”

It can now be revealed that Sharon Stone has gone a step further and is talking about leaving the US to start a new life in Europe if Trump wins in November.

Stone, 66, said this week that she is considering buying a home in Italy if the 78-year-old Republican candidate wins the White House again, saying: “I’m certainly considering buying a house in Italy. I think it’s a smart idea right now.” She added: “This is one of the first times in my life that I’ve seen someone run for office on a platform of hate and oppression.”

Friends of the actress say she has already spent time house hunting on the French Riviera, before turning her sights to Italy. One said: “Sharon has a really beautiful house with her kids in Beverly Hills, but I know she looked in Antibes. That was a few years ago, but she didn’t dare to do it.”

“It’s fair to say he’s thinking about it again. I’d say France is still more likely than Italy.”

Stone has an exhibition of his paintings coming up in Rome and a show in Berlin right now.

She is expected to film Nobody 2 alongside Bob Odenkirk in the United States later this year.

The Casino and Basic Instinct star has lived in the same home for more than 25 years and currently has sons Roan, 24, Laird, 19, and Quinn, 17, living there with her. The two youngest children were adopted after her marriage to Phil Bronstein ended.

She also informally adopted a fourth child, a friend of Roan’s, who had been caring for her single father who had Parkinson’s. When her father died in 2022, Stone took him in as well.

Before Trump was elected in 2016, several celebrities said they would leave the country if he came to power.

Among those who have vowed to leave are Amy Schumer, Chelsea Handler, Bryan Cranston, Jon Stewart, Samuel L. Jackson, Miley Cyrus and Cher.

In the end, though, none of them did anything. Only Girls writer Lena Dunham made good on her promise to leave — and that was in 2021, a year after Biden won.

No cakes, by royal order

Samantha Morton, who reprises her role as Catherine de Medici in The Serpent Queen, finds herself feuding with Elizabeth I, played by Minnie Driver.

It’s a feud that will last for ages on screen, but in real life the two women, both British and successful in Hollywood, are friends and members of a mutual admiration society.

Morton describes Driver as “kind, smart and amazing,” adding: “I’m a huge fan. I’d seen her on an amazing show, The Politician’s Wife, and I was just blown away by her.”

As for stepping back into Catherine de Medici’s corsets, Morton says: “I’ve been doing period dramas for a very long time and, for me, it’s a bit of a no-brainer. I have to stop baking before I start shooting because, yeah… there’s that aspect.”

The battle against being overweight was also made easier by the fact that Catherine is older in the second season.

‘So when I said to the amazing costume designer Karen Muller Serreau, “I’m so sorry… I’m a little bit older now…”, she said, “It’s gotten older! It’s okay!”

The Serpent Queen is now streaming on Prime Video.

Dawn French reveals deeply embarrassing encounter with Princess Margaret

Dawn French recalls an excruciating encounter with Princess Margaret… while she was dressed as a comedy dancer, complete with a fake swan.

The comedian performed at a charity event at the Royal Opera House alongside her partner Jennifer Saunders, as well as legendary dancers Viviana Durante, Sylvie Guillem and Darcey Bussell.

She later told the Titting About podcast: ‘We were told, “Stay on stage, because Princess Margaret is coming and saying hello to you all.”

‘I’m standing in the swan costume… black tights, huge black fins. I’ve got a swan wrapped around me. And I’ve got these ridiculous pink ballet legs coming out of my tutu… those are the fake legs… and I’m holding the swan’s head up with reins. She came up to me and looked at me.

“I thought he was going to kiss me on the cheek, but instead he said two words that shattered me. He simply said, ‘How brave.'”

Pitts Marriage, Court Papers Expected to Reveal Angelina Was the Anonymous Whistleblower About the FBI’s Handling of the Plane Incident That Ended a Marriage

The legal battles surrounding the collapse of the Jolie-Pitt marriage are about to take another turn, with the long-awaited release of court documents confirming that Angelina is indeed the “Jane Doe” who complained about the way the FBI investigated the private jet incident that ended the couple’s marriage eight years ago.

Judge Randolph Moss has issued an order asking the plaintiff — believed to be Jolie — to indicate whether the case should remain sealed and why she should remain “pseudonymous.”

There is no comment from Jolie on what will happen next.

The fashion world's

The fashion world’s “first cat,” Karl Lagerfeld’s Choupette (both pictured), has been living in the lap of luxury since her master’s passing in 2019.

Hello, kitty! What did Karl’s cat do next?

The fashion world’s “first cat,” Karl Lagerfeld’s Choupette, has been living in the lap of luxury since her master’s passing in 2019.

However, it seems that at the age of 13 her modeling career may be coming to an end.

Lucas Berullier, founder of My Pet Agency, which handles Choupette’s commercial work, says he has recently turned to a body double and even airbrushing for the Burmese cat known for her blue eyes and haughty demeanor.

“Sometimes we use doubles,” Berullier said. “For the tail, you don’t have to recognize it. And for the face, sometimes there’s a bit of Photoshop on another cat’s body.”

They will use the money they have won (rumoured to be £11m) to set up a Choupette Foundation which will rehome stray cats and “champion the role of cats in society”.

Chanel designer Lagerfeld adopted Choupette in 2011, eight years before his death. There were plans to take her to this year’s Met Gala (whose theme was to pay homage to Lagerfeld) and Kim Kardashian would carry her down the red carpet.

But Choupette took an instant dislike to Kim when they met, hissing at her and trying to bite her.

Glen comes in big

Twisters doesn’t just send cars and cows into the sky: the film has also given a huge boost to the career of its star Glen Powell, considered the new Tom Cruise.

The chiseled Powell (who at 6 feet 11 inches taller than Cruise) is partly responsible for the box office success of the film, which opened last week; research shows that 22 percent of the opening weekend audience in the United States went mostly to see him.

Powell, who is single, brought his rescue dog Brisket to the red carpet and press tour with him.

This weekend, the film will undoubtedly be outdone by Deadpool and Wolverine, but Powell will feel the momentum for some time to come.

His next project, which has already started filming, is Huntington, which is a remake of Kind Hearts And Coronets and features a young man who wants to kill his family so he can become rich.

Rivals is crap, but Tennant fans love it

Loudmouth Danny Dyer is set to cause quite the stir on the press tour for the TV adaptation of Jilly Cooper’s Rivals, judging by his recent appearance on Alan Carr’s podcast.

Dyer plays self-made electronics millionaire Freddie Jones (pictured) in the Disney+ series, which will stream later this year.

And in the podcast, which made South Park look like an episode of CBeebies, he discussed the risqué nature of the highly-anticipated show (sensitive-natured readers may want to look away now).

Dyer admitted she had never read Rivals (or any of Cooper’s books) and said, “I know a lot of middle-class women loved it,” before marvelling, “It’s rubbish!”

Prompted by Carr, who referred to the show’s star David Tennant as “Dave Ten Inch”, Dyer continued: “If you like Tennant, you’re going to love him! He’s got a nice big… No, I’m joking! He’s a lovely man.”

Oh, Matron! Bring the smelling salts!
