Navy sailor disciplined after searching for 'Joseph Biden' in medical database

A U.S. Navy service member has been disciplined after repeatedly searching for the name “Joseph Biden” in an electronic database of military medical records.

The incident occurred in February, just a week after Biden received his annual physical, what the White House says is one of three times he has been evaluated by a neurologist.

News of the rape comes as congressional Democrats are meeting to find a definitive way forward after lawmakers openly questioned Biden’s suitability as a candidate following his disastrous debate performance in Atlanta.

“On February 26, 2024, the Navy Medical Readiness and Training Command (NMRTC) at Fort Belvoir was notified of unauthorized access to medical records by an active duty service member,” according to a statement from the U.S. Navy.

‘A Sailor assigned to NMRTC Fort Belvoir searched for the name “Joseph Biden” in MHS Genesis, the Military Health System’s electronic medical record, out of curiosity. A coworker reported that the Sailor had violated the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).’

The move prompted an investigation by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, which concluded in April and found that the sailor had not had access to Biden’s records.

The file accessed by the sailor was “not the electronic record of the President of the United States,” according to the Navy’s statement provided to DailyMail.com. “The MHS Genesis system is a secure healthcare system and at no time was the President’s personal information compromised.”

The search came out of “curiosity” after White House physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor issued his report concluding that “President Biden is a healthy, active, and robust 81-year-old man who remains fit to successfully discharge the duties of the presidency” following a visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He said Biden “continues to be fit to discharge his duty.”

On Tuesday, the White House continued to face questions about its own response following revelations that Dr. Kevin Cannard, a neurology expert at Walter Reed, met with O’Connor on at least one occasion and made a series of visits to the White House over a period of years.

On Monday, the White House released a letter from O’Connor in which she finally outlines the purpose of Cannard’s visits. “Prior to the pandemic and following its end, he has conducted regular neurological clinics at the White House Medical Clinic in support of the thousands of active duty service members assigned to support the operation of the White House,” according to the letter.

“I said right here that the president was not receiving treatment for Parkinson’s,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters at the White House. She also said that Dr. Cannard was a “general neurologist” and not just an expert on Parkinson’s. “We just wanted to set the record straight.”

Dr. Kevin Cannard examined Biden three times as part of his annual physicals.

The letter came after Jean-Pierre refused to confirm information about Dr Cannard’s visits, citing privacy concerns.

A handful of Democrats have publicly called for Biden to step back, forcing the president to participate in a series of public events to try to prove his worth.

“He seems very decisive and unequivocal, emphatic,” said Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), who continues to support Biden.

“Knowing Joe Biden and watching him, there’s no doubt in my mind that he’s determined to stay in this race,” Blumenthal told DailyMail.com.
