A football fan who invaded the field during an AFL game called himself a “legend” after leaving the field on Wednesday.
Julián Saginario, 22, argued in the Adelaide Magistrates Court that his actions on March 22 were the result of being intoxicated and also “being egged on by his peers”.
“It wasn’t like me because I don’t really do any of that, I don’t have any bad history,” he told magistrate Justin Wickens.
The part-time warehouse worker was spared a conviction on Wednesday but was handed a lifetime ban from attending AFL and AFLW matches.
He was also fined $1,080 and ordered to pay court fees and liens totaling an additional $1,000.

Outside court, Saginario was anything but repentant.
When asked by a reporter if he was an idiot because of his behavior at the Adelaide Oval, Saginarion bizarrely responded: “I’m a legend.”
On the night in question, Adelaide Crows midfielder Matt Crouch grabbed Saginario after he stopped play.
Crouch briefly grabbed him by the sleeve of his shirt before Saginario managed to free himself.
Saginario then ran freely around a group of Adelaide and Geelong players towards Crows star Ben Keays, who tackled the 22-year-old to the ground before the security pounced.
At that moment, Geelong star Jeremy Cameron showed his funny side, raising his arms at his sides in the same motion as a referee indicating he was holding the ball.

Eagle-eyed fans loved it, with many quick to praise the “funny” Cameron on social media for trolling Saginario.
The incident follows another pitch invader, who is a close friend of Collingwood star Brayden Maynard, who was banned for life from the AFL this week.
Conor Clarke, brother of Western Bulldogs player Charlie Clarke, ran onto the field during the Pies’ epic victory over North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium.
As a result, Clarke will now not be able to see her brother or Maynard perform live again.
