A California girl had to be rushed to hospital after a restaurant mistakenly served her alcohol.
Noemí Valencia was dining at Fujiyama Japanese restaurant in Salinas with her young daughter when the girl was given cooking wine instead of apple juice.
It wasn’t until her daughter started showing signs of being drunk that she realized the glass of juice she had been drinking from was filled with alcohol.
Talking with KSBWValencia said: ‘He was staggering, falling, leaning against walls, couldn’t hold his head up, slurred his words.’
Due to the incident, Valencia had to rush her daughter to the emergency room where she ended up spending the night.

According to Valencia, the wine had been served in a regular children’s cup and a blood test later revealed she had an alcohol level of 0.12 percent in her system.
The parents spent the night in the Salinas Valley emergency room. They said a blood test revealed an alcohol level of 0.12 percent in their daughter’s system.
KSBW spoke to the restaurant manager, who said the cooking wine had been incorrectly labeled inside a large container as “apple juice,” leading to the error.
Salinas police also said a police report was filed on Aug. 17 and they are investigating the matter.
The young woman has since made a full recovery and Valencia added: “Take proper precautions and know how to store or label things properly so this doesn’t happen to anyone else.
He added: “Parents: try what is served to your children.”
In a statement, the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control said: “The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control is aware of the reports and is working with local authorities to investigate.”

Mekyle Cureton and her grandmother, Yolanda Collins, are regular visitors to the Outback in Livonia, Michigan, visiting a couple of times a month.
She told Fox 2 that her go-to order is a virgin strawberry daiquiri. But during a recent drinking binge, something wasn’t right.
“It didn’t taste the same as the other times,” Cureton said. “It didn’t taste normal.”
After taking a few sips of the drink, Cureton said he began to feel ill.
“My head started to hurt when I came out and my heart started to race as I drank it,” Mekyle added.
The boy was taken to hospital, where doctors helped him flush the alcohol out of his system. However, this left Mekyle with a nasty hangover, his first since he was 12.
