‘While there is no tragedy in the death of an 85-year-old man who lived a wonderful, healthy life, I know that pain is inevitable and lurks in unexpected corners.
‘Today is to give thanks. We are grateful for Dad’s kind demeanor and quiet strength. For how he joked with a mischievous smile and for the way he played the role of girl daddy, always patient. We are grateful for his work ethic, leadership and faith.
We extend our thanks to the medical communities of Charleston Area Medical Center and City of Hope. Caring for him expanded Dad’s life and gave him time to be in his favorite places: surrounded by daughters and grandchildren, cheering on his beloved Aggies, captaining a boat and, above all, with his wife of 59 years, our mom.
