Brentford star Neal Maupay joked that he had found a “big fish” in Luke Littler amid a bizarre social media exchange following the Bees’ draw with Man United.
Maupay took to social media after Saturday’s 1-1 draw to highlight an off-ball fight with Man United midfielder Scott McTominay.
Referee Simon Hopper cautioned both players for their involvement and Maupay took to social media to attack the midfielder.
The Frenchman wrote in X: “This fan was desperate for my shirt.”
Manchester United fan Littler was quick to respond to Maupay, with the 17-year-old darts sensation replying: “He talks more than he scores!”

Maupay, who has scored eight goals in 30 games this season, shared a post highlighting Littler’s response.
The Brentford striker responded using a clip of Littler throwing the ‘Big Fish’ (a 170 dart check) in celebration during a recent Premier League darts match.
“Talk about a big fish,” Maupay wrote, adding laughing emojis and a fishing rod.
The bizarre exchange is the latest in a series of incidents in which Maupay has injured players and fans of rival clubs.
Maupay had previously used darts to finish off Tottenham players, and the Frenchman used James Maddison’s trademark darts to celebrate after scoring.
Brennan Johnson used the darts celebration after putting Tottenham ahead in the match, and Spurs won 3-2.
“Apparently you’re not allowed to throw a dart, because only he (Maddison) can do it, the way he took offense.” It was quite funny,” Maupay told SPORTbible after the incident.
“The only thing is, it would have been even better if we had won.” But in the end we lost.
Maupay is no stranger to using dart celebrations to take out opponents and supporters.
‘At home, in front of their fans, they angered all their players. That’s GOAT. All those players, every time they scored, ran towards me.
‘Just by throwing a dart, I got 11 players toast. It was so easy.’
Just days later, Maupay clashed with Manchester City’s Kyle Walker when he was accused of making comments about the defender’s children.
The forward was criticized for his actions but insisted he never crossed the line, denying allegations surrounding his alleged comments to Walker in his team’s 3-1 defeat to the Champions League on February 5.
West Ham assistant manager Kevin Nolan was seen angrily confronting him during Brentford’s 4-2 defeat at the London Stadium on February 26.
While Maupay’s recent defining moments have largely ended in defeat, his latest post came after the Bees fought back against Man United to earn a valuable point.
Thomas Frank’s men earned a 1-1 draw thanks to a 99th-minute goal from Kristoffer Ajer that canceled out Mason Mount’s opener three minutes earlier.
