Model Emily Ratajkowski is under furious fire from customers of her bikini brand, who say they still haven’t received the Black Friday purchases they made almost four months ago.
Ratajkowski’s brand, Inamorata, which sells a range of bikinis, one-pieces, beachwear and even dresses, was launched in 2017 by the fashion star and her childhood best friend, according to Forbes.
But while mother-of-one Ratajkowski proved to be the perfect spokesperson for the brand – which she regularly features on her Instagram account – during Inamorata’s latest Black Friday sale, things aren’t did not go as well.
Over the past few weeks, customers took to the brand’s most recent Instagram post — which was a November Black Friday ad and featured a photo of Ratajkowski modeling one of its bikinis — to air their grievances.
Some fans aren’t too happy with model Emily Ratajkowski after they reportedly didn’t receive their orders from her swimsuit company Inamorata’s Black Friday sale.
The brand was created in 2017 by Ratajkowski and her childhood best friend and offers swimwear, shirts, bottoms and dresses.
“I ordered a bikini in NOVEMBER which still hasn’t arrived. I sent several emails and all I received were automated responses regarding further delays. So upsetting,” wrote one exasperated customer.
Another wrote: “UPDATE – it’s been 4 months and customer service assured with a formal email that it would be delivered by March 5th at the latest. Still nothing and no shipping information. HORRIFIC mark…just give me my money back at this point.
Some claimed the brand even promised them shipping notifications that had already passed.
“It’s the 17th, so have you felt the whistle as the March 6-15 deadline passed? Unfortunately, this was the THIRD deadline you listed. At this point you owe me interest on my funds you hold,” another wrote.
One furious person commented: “Your team promised my items would be shipped by March 15th. Always nothing. PLEASE, it’s been 5 months
“My November order hasn’t been shipped either. I’ve sent several emails. I have a trip in April and was hoping it would at least arrive by then. We promised for the last time it would ship a few days ago,” someone else complained.
The initial deal offered during the holidays was 50% off their satin styles.
The scandal also made its way to Reddit This week, many users reported similar issues regarding shipping delays.
The brand’s Instagram has been flooded with comments from angry customers who claim their Black Friday orders haven’t arrived yet.
The last Instagram post on the brand’s page was from Black Friday, published in November.
The Reddit poster claimed: “They sent two emails about the shipping delay, one saying it would be in February and another saying everything would ship by March 15th.”
On Instagram, the brand responded to the majority of complaints made on the page, telling customers that they had responded to their emails “with options”, or asking them to email the company to obtain a refund.
They noted that the items “will be shipping soon.”
Imorata also posted an Instagram Story on Tuesday to address her concerns.
“Due to the sheer volume of orders during the Black Friday sales, we are experiencing a slight delay on a small percentage of our orders,” they wrote.
The message continues: “We are offering a full refund to anyone who does not want to wait, with our sincere apologies to our valued customers.”
However, a source with knowledge of the situation told DailyMail.com that when customers placed their orders on Black Friday, they were informed that the styles were on pre-order with a delivery window in January or February.
They also noted that a large portion of Black Friday orders were actually fulfilled during the January/February window, and that the orders that were delayed were only a few weeks, not four months, like some commentators have asserted this.
Ratajkowski often models swimwear on the brand’s Instagram, posing in all different styles
The source added that communications have taken place with customers telling them there was a factory delay and a possibility of a refund.
But on Tuesday, customers were still flocking to the comments to complain about their supposed orders.
During an interview with Forbes in 2020, the model revealed that she decided to start her own brand after having an influx of licensing deals, and was inspired when she saw some of the results in return.
“Now it’s a pretty common understanding: Building your Instagram is building a brand,” she told the outlet at the time.
“People didn’t think that way three years ago. And I was like, ‘I had already built a brand with Emrata, but now I want to change that into something where I’m not waiting to do collaborations; I have my own products that I’m selling.’
DailyMail.com has contacted representatives for Inamorata and Ratajowski for comment.
