Doja Cat was unsuccessful in her attempt to implement a permanent restraining order against her older brother Raman Dlamini.

The Grammy-winning artist, 28, had filed court papers requesting the permanent restraining order amid previous allegations of alienation raised by his mother, Deborah Elizabeth Sawyer. The explosion reported on Thursday.

Sawyer said Raman, 30, has physically and verbally abused the pop star, at one point knocking out her teeth, in a Jan. 12 court filing in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Sawyer said Raman had also abused her as she felt “insecure” around him, the outlet reported after reviewing court documents.

Sawyer was initially granted a restraining order amid the allegations, according to the outlet, and it was extended for five years.

The restraining order for the Say So artist was thrown out by the court, after she accused him of stealing from her, destroying her possessions and physically abusing her, leaving her with cuts and bruises.

Sawyer in court papers last month backed claims made by the Paint the Town Red frontman that Raman’s conduct had left her “unsafe and traumatized.”

Sawyer said that “Raman has destroyed and stolen property” and had “verbally assaulted” Doja Cat, whose real name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, “in a very degrading and demeaning manner.”

“I need these orders to protect the physical and emotional well-being of all listed parties,” Sawyer told the court. “I am not only concerned and fearful of the episodes of physical violence, but also of the tremendous mental and emotional damage that is being caused.”

Sawyer said her son’s behavior had left her in a state of “constant anxiety and fear.”

Sawyer said Raman had also verbally abused his 13-year-old grandson with a barrage of “insults, disgraceful and degrading insults.”

Raman told a photographer in Los Angeles last month that he didn’t know who Doja Cat was and that “no restraining order” had been filed against her.

Raman said there was “no story” and he “hadn’t seen anyone in years.”

The NHIE artist opened up about her upbringing in a December 2021 profile for Rolling Stoneexplaining that she and her older brother had faced discrimination growing up in the Los Angeles suburb of Oak Park.

“People were very racist, very rude, unhinged and weird,” he said.

In the article, a former nanny of the pop star said that Raman’s behavioral problems “took up a lot of space in that house” and that, as a result, “there may not have been room for (Doja’s) feelings.”
