Kamala Harris has gained momentum over Donald Trump in the final days of the campaign in what could be one of the closest presidential elections in history.

The vice president took a break from rallies in swing states for a surprise cameo on Saturday Night Live, where she was criticized for her laugh.

As she woke up Sunday to prepare for a church service in Detroit and for events on critical battlefields, she was encouraged by signs that the tide was turning in her favor.

The findings caused a domino effect, especially in the “Blue Wall” states of the Midwest, which are crucial for Harris if she wants to take the keys to the White House.

A final New York Times poll puts Trump behind Harris in four critical states: Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina and Wisconsin.

They are tied in Michigan and Pennsylvania and Trump is one point ahead in Arizona. It’s a very close race with just two days left until Election Day.

The latest results follow a shocking poll released Saturday night that put Trump trailing Harris by three points in Iowa, a solidly Republican state.

The vice president is also closing the gap with Trump in the betting markets, in a sign of momentum for her in the final days of the campaign.

The former president’s odds plummeted overnight after the Des Moines Register poll results were revealed.

But in the early hours of Sunday his chances improved slightly, with still a small gap between him and Harris.

DailyMail.com’s polling partner, JL Partners, has also seen changes in its electoral model following the surprising Iowa poll.

The results have had a ripple effect across the Midwest in our model, changing Michigan from ‘TOSSUP TRUMP’ to ‘TOSSUP HARRIS.’

Wisconsin also sees a two-point drop for Trump, but that’s not enough to move him from ‘TOSSUP TRUMP.’

However, the movement is small. So the overall result is that Trump remains the favorite to win the Electoral College. And when the simulation is run, it wins 62.4 percent of the time.

In his briefing note, JL Partners data scientist Callum Hunter writes: “In the last 24 hours we have seen a number of anti-Trump moves in the betting markets (moves that have not been reflected in all models) due to to the Selzer Iowa poll.

‘Despite this fact, things haven’t really changed in our model, as Emerson published a survey around the same time. Despite Selzer’s accuracy score, things balance out with the Emerson survey AND cross-state correlations that prevent the model from being dragged down heavily due to a single survey in a state.

‘The model depends more on underlying patterns in similar states than on knee-jerk reactions to individual surveys. While things have stalled at the headline level, rust belt states are still moving towards Harris and this may continue tomorrow. I’ll keep you informed.’

Trump rebuked the latest Iowa poll results with a Truth Social post on Sunday saying, “No president has done more for FARMERS and the Great State of Iowa than Donald J. Trump.”

He also continued to push preemptive claims that Democrats plan to win by “cheating” this cycle.

To avoid this, the former president said that the results of the 2024 presidential elections must be final on the night of election day, November 5, no later than 11:00 p.m.

Any flexible hours after that date, Trump claims, will be used by Democrats for “cheating.”

“I don’t know what’s going to happen, but for future elections, I won’t even be a part of them, but you should go to paper ballots, you should go to voter ID and you should have ‘The election will end at 9 o’clock,'” Trump said in Lititz, Pennsylvania.

‘They told me it will take weeks. Can you imagine?’

‘And what do you think happens during those 12 days?’ Trump questioned the crowd, to whom they responded: “They’re cheating.”

“These elections have to be decided before 9, 10 and 11 on Tuesday night.”
