The suspect in the murder of a 33-year-old artist at a luxury Hamptons spa hotel committed suicide, police announced Wednesday.
Thomas Gannon, 56, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home on Hidden Brooke Drive in Honesdale, Pennsylvania.
His alleged victim, Sabina Rosas, was found dead inside a bedroom at the Shou Sugi Ban House in Water Mill, Suffolk County, on Monday afternoon.
Gannon is believed to have fled the $1,250-a-night hotel on Monday morning and took a taxi to the property in Pennsylvania, about a four-hour drive from Long Island.
Rosa’s fiancé and her mentor confirmed to the Daily Mail that she had been in a relationship with Gannon. Suffolk County police had indicated before naming the suspect that they believed Rosas’ murder was a domestic incident.

Staff discovered the body of Sabina Rosas, 33, inside a guest room at the Shou Sugi Ban House in Water Mill on Monday afternoon. Rosas, who was also known for using ‘Khorramdel’ as a middle name, was arrested in Miami last year for assault and is seen with a black eye.
Rosas was apparently born in Tajikistan and moved to the United States in 2009 at the age of 17.

Police have not released the victim’s cause of death, pending an autopsy.
In a statement, Rosas’ heartbroken relatives shared their pain and referred to her as Sabina Khorramdel.
‘It is with immense pain that we announce the tragic death of Sabina Khorramdel, our beloved daughter, sister, fiancée and friend.
‘She was found murdered on Monday 28 October 2024 at a spa hotel near Southampton.
‘As the eldest of three daughters, Sabina brought excitement, adventure, joy and love to our family.
‘She is survived by her loving mother, father, fiancée and estranged husband.
“We are devastated by this senseless loss and ask for privacy as we go through this incredibly difficult time.
‘We urge anyone with information about the circumstances of Sabina’s death to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigations.
“Your support during this difficult time is a testament to how special Sabina was and will continue to be.”
Their message concluded by requesting privacy as they mourn the loss of their beloved family member.
Rosas was born in Tajikistan and moved to the United States in 2009 at the age of 17.

Suffolk County police called the death suspicious and said the woman was a victim of violence. Police were seen outside the hotel on Tuesday.
Shou Sugi Ban House is “a private sanctuary and gated compound surrounded by evergreen trees and lush grasses.”
The retreat, which opened in 2019, has been featured in goop, Vogue, and Condé Nast Traveler, among other luxury publications.
It offers 13 guest studios on three acres, as well as “detached luxury residences for short-term rentals,” according to its website.
Accommodating up to guests, studios offer a “luxury soaking tub,” modern gas fireplace, and private garden patios.
Former guests of the hotel include actress Kate Hudson and journalist Katie Couric.
DailyMail.com has contacted the hotel for comment and has yet to make a statement about the murder.
