Former NFL quarterback Brett Favre has been endorsing Donald Trump for political office for nearly a decade, yet this presidential race has more “election hate” than any before, and the former Packer criticized the rise in hateful rhetoric.
Favre will speak at one of Trump’s last rallies before the election Wednesday night in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where he played for 16 seasons in the NFL.
Favre posted on his social media about the election and expressed his opinion on the amount of hate in political discourse.
“In all the elections I’ve seen in my life, I’ve never seen one where there was so much hate,” Favre said. “It’s certainly sad to see.”
Favre is endorsing a candidate who some say has been the catalyst for increased hateful rhetoric that has entered the political landscape since he first announced his candidacy for president in 2015.

Favre’s last endorsement of Trump was unsuccessful, as the former president lost his 2020 re-election bid to Joe Biden.
Trump is the Republican presidential candidate for the third consecutive time, tying the American record for a single party.
Favre has been in the headlines in recent years for a welfare scandal in the state of Mississippi, where he was charged.
The Viking and Jet testified before the Congressional Ways and Means Committee in September about the matter.
In the case, about $77 million in funds intended for needy families were redirected to wealthy families. Favre lobbied state officials to fund Southern Miss’ volleyball facilities at the time while his daughter was on the team.
Favre has denied wrongdoing and has not been criminally charged.
Trump has less than a week left until his third presidential election to campaign, hoping that Favre’s support can help him win one of the important swing states of Wisconsin.
