Denzel Washington was filmed exploding at autograph hunters in New York City on Wednesday.
The Oscar-winning actor, 69, shouted at fans as he arrived at the Museum of Modern Art for a benefit film honoring Samuel L. Jackson, with the tense exchange captured on dramatic video.
The Training Day star was seen arriving at the museum and posing with a fan, while autograph hunters shouted his name to the side.
Washington, visibly upset, entered, but then turned and addressed a fan in the crowd.
While the entire exchange cannot be deciphered, the actor was seen pointing his finger and was heard saying, “I heard you.” You talk about showing love…’
‘…Respecting me’ to which the fan said ‘we already do it’.

The Oscar-winning actor, 69, snapped at fans as he arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art for a benefit film honoring Samuel L. Jackson, with the tense exchange captured on dramatic video.
Washington replied: ‘I said I’ll see you when I get out, what part of that don’t you understand?
‘It’s about showing love’ – before raising his voice and declaring ‘or not, or not!’ we can do it another way… or no, we can do it both ways!’
He then entered the building after the shock incident.
DailyMail.com has contacted representatives for comment.
Earlier this month it was claimed that Washington had a heated argument with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs after a night out in 2003.
A source stated Us weekly that ‘Denzel yelled, “You don’t respect anyone”‘ at the hip hop mogul, who is currently awaiting trial in sex trafficking charges.
“(Denzel and his wife, Pauletta Washington) had been partying until dawn (with Diddy), saw something and stormed out,” the source told the outlet.
In the early 2000s, Washington and Diddy were seen together on several occasions, including the 2001 Essence Awards, former President Barack Obama’s first inauguration in 2009, and two NBA games.

Washington, visibly angry, entered the room.
The star was all smiles as she posed on the red carpet at the event.
It is unclear what the men were fighting about, but there is no indication that the fight is related to Diddy’s current criminal charges.
Representatives for Washington and Diddy have not responded to DailyMail.com’s requests for comment at this time.
Two decades after the alleged incident, Diddy is being held at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center while facing charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.
