Injuries continue to mount for the Miami Dolphins, who lost kick returner Braxton Berrios on Sunday.

The diminutive 29-year-old was hurt on a kickoff return during Sunday’s 16-10 loss to the Colts in Indianapolis. Various match reports claimed that Berrios injured his left knee. It appeared to be a non-contact injury.

The extent of the injury is unknown, but Berríos appeared frustrated on the sideline.

Although once a prolific wide receiver, Berrios has been an afterthought in Miami’s offense this season, having been targeted just three times by Miami quarterbacks. However, Berríos has a large following on social media thanks to his relationship with TikTok star Alix Earle and a previous romance with Sophia Culpo.

And he wasn’t the only Dolphins player to get hurt on Sunday. Miami quarterback Tyler Huntley emerged from the loss with a shoulder injury and did not return. Huntley started in place of Tua Tagovailoa, who is recovering from another concussion.

Huntley left midway through the third quarter with a right shoulder injury. He completed 7 of 13 passes for 87 yards and a touchdown before exiting.

Tim Boyle took control when Miami had the ball and went the rest of the way, completing 8 of 13 passes for 74 yards.

Anthony Richardson threw for 129 yards and rushed for 56 to help the Colts improve to 4-3 while the Dolphins fell to 2-4. Richardson missed the previous two games with an oblique injury, but helped the Colts (4-3) win their second straight game. Tyler Goodson ran for a score, Grant Stuard had 18 tackles and Matt Gay kicked three field goals for Indianapolis.

Jonnu Smith had seven receptions for 96 yards and a touchdown for the Dolphins, who have lost four of their last five games. Tyreek Hill had just one catch for 8 yards and Jaylen Waddle had one for 11 yards.

Miami took control with 1:51 left and the drive began with an 8-yard pass to Hill. The Dolphins later faced fourth-and-2 from the Indianapolis 33-yard line, and Boyle’s final throw was missed and out of bounds with seven seconds remaining. The Colts ran out of time.

Miami had a chance to tie the score, but Jason Sanders’ 54-yard field goal attempt hit the left upright and was no good with 5:14 remaining.

Gay added a 38-yard pass with 1:51 left to increase Indianapolis’ lead to six.

Earlier, Indianapolis tied the score at 10 on Goodson’s 7-yard touchdown run with 9:08 left in the third quarter. The score was established when Miami’s Raheem Mostert lost a fumble and the Colts’ Segun Olubi recovered it and ran 18 yards to the Miami 28-yard line.

Miami got on the scoreboard first when Huntley hit Smith on a 10-yard toss with 5:56 left in the first quarter. Sanders kicked a 33-yard field goal with 22 seconds left in the half.

Indianapolis responded with a 52-yard field goal by Gay as time expired in the first half.
