Tamzin Outhwaite has confirmed she has split from her toyboy boyfriend Tom Child, but revealed she is now “happy to be single” for the first time in her life.
The actress, 53, was in a six-year relationship with Child, 33, whom she met at a yoga class in 2017; they split earlier this summer.
Prior to this she was married to actor Tom Ellis, but the couple split in 2014 when he allegedly cheated on her with actress Emile De Ravin while they were filming the American series Once Upon a Time.
Talking with The mirror Speaking about her newfound singlehood, Outhwaite shared: “I’m very happy. And being single and happy is a really wonderful thing to be in. And that can only happen with life experience.”
Reflecting on the breakup, she said: “Maybe before now, I’ve been single, but I haven’t been happy. For anyone going through a tough time, the most important relationship you’ll ever have in your life is with yourself.”

She continued: “It is often said that people don’t want to be alone as they get older. I really like being alone. Especially now, at this age, I really like my own company.”
This is the first time she has spoken publicly about her latest breakup and it appears to be a very different comment from her divorce.
Ellis, 45, is a father to children Flo, 16, and Marnie, 12, but now lives in the US with his new wife Meaghan, 38, and their ten-month-old daughter Dolly.
Outhwaite currently stars in Channel 5 drama The Wives and her character Sylvie has recently gone through a divorce.
Her co-stars are her friends Angela Griffin, 48, and Jo Joyner, 47, who play Sylvie’s ex-sisters-in-law Natasha and Beth.
In 2023, Outhwaite shared a post online a decade after her split from husband Ellis, writing: “Ten years since my children’s father last left us.”
The marriage is believed to have ended after he confessed to having an affair with Australian actress Ravin, best known for her role as Claire Littleton in Lost, while they were working together on the American television show Once Upon A Time in 2013.
In a now-deleted tweet, Outhwaite said he was still hearing more stories of Ellis’ alleged infidelity that took place during their nine-year marriage.

The 52-year-old actress claimed that a decade later she was still uncovering “more infidelities and lies he committed” in a now-deleted tweet.
Outhwaite wrote: ‘It’s been ten years since my children’s father left us for the last time. I still meet new people at work who reveal to me more of the infidelities and lies he committed.
“But thankfully my heart and soul are clean and clear and I couldn’t be happier right now.”
The EastEnders actress later deleted the tweet and told her followers she was marking the decade since her marriage broke down because she felt a “sense of triumph and pride” at having overcome her grief.

She said: ‘Thank you all for your messages regarding my now deleted tweet.
‘I celebrated the 10th anniversary with pride, a sense of triumph and genuine gratitude.
“I understand that this has affected some people. For anyone going through a difficult time, the most important relationship they will have in their life will be with themselves.”
Outhwaite had been introduced to Ellis in 2005 by his long-time friend, actor James McAvoy, who appeared on stage with the actress.
After nine years of marriage, they were granted a quickie divorce in 2014, leaving Outhwaite heartbroken.

“Tamzin couldn’t believe Tom’s betrayal and was distraught,” a source told The Sun in 2016.
“She was thrilled that he would go to the United States and continue his career behind Miranda’s back while she raised their two daughters and this is how he returned the favor.”
Outhwaite told Essentials magazine in 2015: “The only thing I will say is that I wouldn’t be with my husband for a one-night stand,” implying that their split was the result of more than just a mistake.
Outhwaite currently stars in Channel 5 drama The Wives and her character Sylvie has recently gone through a divorce.
The actress said she did not want to reveal the precise details of her problems for fear of hurting her children.
She added: “I will tell you exactly what happened and I will tell you everything. He is still her father and they still have a relationship.”
Ellis has since made a name for himself in the US, playing the devil incarnate in the television drama series Lucifer.
