Tyreek Hill accepts Noah Lyles' challenge to compete with him amid bitter feud

Tyreek Hill has accepted Noah Lyles’ challenge to compete against him after the Miami Dolphins wide receiver claimed the American track star faked his illness at the Olympics earlier this summer.

On Shannon Sharpe’s ‘Nightcap’ podcast on Saturday, Lyles was asked if he would beat ‘Cheetah’ in a 100-meter race after the NFL star suggested the gold medalist ‘faked he was sick’ after finishing third in the 200 meters in Paris.

“Tyreek is just looking for clout. Whenever someone comes along fast, he says he wants to compete with them,” Lyles said early on. “If he really wanted to compete with people, he would have shown up as DK Metcalf. The guy ran the 60 meters this year in the Masters division. The guy (Lyles) dodges smoke. I don’t have time for that.”

Lyles continued: “If (Tyreek) is really serious about it, I don’t mean just talk on the Internet and don’t come to me or talk to my agent and tell me let’s do something, if you’re serious about it, you’ll see me on the court.”

Just 24 hours after Lyles’ comments, Hill shared on X: ‘Sign the contract and lock in that 50-yard dash…’

Noah Lyles didn’t mince words when he talked about the possibility of competing against Tyreek Hill on Saturday.

Hill, one of the fastest players in the NFL, reportedly finished last in Paris in the 100 and 200 meters.

Lyles is not shy about voicing his opinions on other sports and their athletes. Last year, he said that NBA Finals champions should not be viewed as “champions of the world.”

Regardless of his beef with Hill, Lyles will need to be in top physical condition to get past Hill, as the receiver’s personal best in the 100 meters is 10.19 seconds.

Hill’s best time in the 200 meters is 20.14 seconds.

Had he claimed both titles in Paris, the 2019 Super Bowl champion would have finished last in the finals of each Olympic event.

Lyles' best time in the 100 metres is the one he ran to win gold in Paris in early August: 9.79 seconds.

His best time of 19.31 in the 200 meters is the current American record.

Over the weekend, Hill’s mother made headlines when she was accused of being violent toward a friend while behind the wheel in Florida, sparking a furious argument between the two.
