But she was not impressed by what she described as “strange” and “weird” flavor combinations.

Below the clip, the content creator added: “Are these flavour combinations a little weird or is it just me?” but did not elaborate on why she doesn’t like the fillings mentioned.

Among the sandwiches Keyona found unappealing was the tuna and egg salad, with Tesco’s variant featuring sliced egg, tuna, spinach, tomato, cucumber and a green bean puree.

He also expressed confusion about the popular pickle and cheese sandwich, questioning why it didn’t include mayonnaise and finding the upgraded “deli-style” version – with pickles, pickled slaw and mustard-laced mayo – even more baffling.

Keyona was also taken aback by the classic cheese and onion sandwich and the triple cheese option, exclaiming, “That’s a lot of cheese.”

The smoked bacon and ketchup sandwich was another combination she found odd, but it was the shrimp and mayo sandwich that she declared the “weirdest” of all, asking her viewers, “Shrimp and mayo, can someone explain that to me?”

With the video having received over 8,000 views since it was uploaded, dozens of Brits took to the comments to defend the quintessentially British flavour combinations.

One person wrote: “There is literally nothing strange about any of them. Tuna and eggs as a niçoise sauce and shrimp mayonnaise absolutely delicious and totally normal.”

Another raged, saying: “Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it,” while a third commented: “Perfectly normal, I don’t see anything irregular here.”

One Brit said: “The cheese and pickle combination is one of the most common. I think you might think it’s pickled gherkins rather than gherkins. Give it a try.”

Another wrote: ‘Cheese and onions are a pretty common thing. I grew up having them in the house.’

A third commenter responds by (incorrectly) mocking American cuisine, writing: “This is coming from a country that puts cheese in a spray can? And marshmallows and sweet potatoes together in a pie? Pffft!”

However, one American viewer also joined in the defence of British sandwiches, writing: “As an American who has lived in the UK for 15 years, I can confirm that these flavours only seem strange for a minute before you realise they are (good).”

This comes after another American living in the UK sparked a transatlantic divide among food lovers after criticising how Brits prepare a classic lunch and dinner staple.
