Another rider is down at Versailles

Chaos at Versailles and the world number one falls off his horse!

Henrik von Eckermann changed his mind halfway through his race and was unable to recover and his mount threw its jockey.

It was a terrible mistake he seemed to have made by running towards a large gate, but he managed to remain seated until his mount turned a corner and he lost control and fell to the ground.

Von Eckermann is standing and appears to be fine, although a little dazed.

For all javelin fans…

For all you javelin fans, here is an update on Group A of the qualification…

Germany’s Julian Weber currently leads with 87.76m, ahead of Kenyan thrower Julius Yego (85.97m), Czech Jakub Vadlejch (85.63m) and Finland’s Toni Keranen (85.27m).

There’s no British action to bring you that, but I’d definitely recommend checking out the highlights if you can because a throw like 87.76m doesn’t really sink in until you see it with your own eyes.

Revee Walcott-Nolan ‘upset’ by heat in 1500m

Earlier we recapped the morning’s action from the first round of the women’s 1500m.

Georgia Bell and Laura Muir advanced directly to the semi-finals, but it will be a play-off for Revee Walcott-Nolan, who spoke to the BBC after her race:

I caught up on a couple of trips and got high.

It happened to me three times and it made me lose my rhythm. I can run much faster, so I’m upset.

I felt good at the bell and thought I could get back into the top six, but when I got out of the group I had to go wide and I didn’t have the strength to get into the final group. I’m very disappointed about that.

I’m glad I got another chance, but it’s not ideal. I hope I’m strong enough to get through the play-offs.

It’s Brash’s fourth so far

He will look to make up for that penalty with a quick round and hope for a higher position if they tie on four penalties.

He jumps last without any faults and finishes in 81.23 s, which is pretty good, but it won’t be a problem for the medals.

Fourth place went to Brash and Jefferson, who will leave Paris with their heads held high after winning gold in the team event.

Here comes Brash…

Here come Brash and Jefferson, who already have gold in the team event (remember) and need to get out of the way to have a chance to make it two for two.

Four penalties committed at exactly the same spot as Ben Maher!

Only TWO rounds without faults in show jumping

It was an eventful morning, even in the individual jumps.

We had one rider fall off his horse, another brilliantly kept his composure after almost following suit, and only two of the 18 riders made it through without incident.

There will be a play-off between Dutchman Maikel van der Vleuten and German Christian Kukuk to determine the result, as there cannot be a tie and Scott Brash is still to come.

Laugher returns to action in the diving pool

Meanwhile, in diving, Jack Laugher returns to action after taking bronze in the 3m synchronised springboard event.

This time it’s the preliminary round of the 3m individual springboard (so no medals at stake yet) and Laugher is competing alone this time. Sort of.

He’s not the only Brit in the pool, Jordan Houlden joins him with an athletic and acrobatic entry.

The duo is doing well, with only Wang Zongyuan and Siyi Xie ahead of them.

Laugher took silver at this event in Rio, so she will be hoping to bring home some previous metal from Paris.

Great Britain’s athletics team gets off to a good start

There is also some British interest in the Stade de France, where the first heats of the women’s 1,500 metres are already underway.

Both Laura Muir and Georgia Bell advanced to the semi-finals of that event this morning, with Revee Walcott-Nolan into the repechage after finishing only eighth in her heat.

Both Muir and Bell advanced after finishing second in their respective heats in a promising start to the 1500m following Keely Hodgkinson’s success last night.

Good morning and welcome to day 11!

Good morning Olympic fans and welcome to Day 11 in Paris!

We have another action-packed day ahead, with Dina Asher-Smith and Daryll Neita in the women’s 200m final, Josh Kerr against Jakob Ingebrigtsen in the men’s 1500m, more cycling in the velodrome and Team GB’s teenage superstar Sky Brown in skateboarding still to come.

But before all that, we’re already underway with the individual jumping final in Versailles – and we’ve got athletics coming in from the Stade de France!

I hope everyone has had their coffee. It’s going to be a busy morning.
