A funny troll by a Japanese fan appeared to catch the attention of some US women’s basketball stars ahead of their opening Olympic Games in Paris.
The fan, wearing a half Brooklyn Nets, half Los Angeles Lakers jersey, held up a sign that read: “You need Caitlin Clark to beat us.”
That sign caught the attention of several players on the court, including A’ja Wilson.
Wilson caught the attention of teammate Brittany Griner, who saw the sign and responded with a resounding, “Oh, wow.”
Clark’s omission from the Olympic team still sparks controversy to this day, even though Team USA didn’t exactly need her.

Team USA pulled off a resounding win over Japan without WNBA star Caitlin Clark in Paris
That was on display Monday when the women’s team dominated Japan with a 102-76 victory in their first group game.
Wilson led all scorers with 24 points, 13 rebounds and four assists, while Breanna Stewart contributed 22 points of her own plus eight rebounds and three assists.
Griner was one of three substitute players who contributed eleven points and also accumulated nine rebounds.
Sabrina Ionescu and Kelsey Plum also scored eleven points, doing so in 20 and 14 minutes of play respectively.
Japan was led by substitute Maki Takada, who scored 24 points, but his team shot an abysmal 38 percent from the field.
Team USA will next play Thursday when it faces Belgium, which lost 83-69 to Germany.
