Spain captain Alvaro Morata is in talks to join AC Milan for a fee of £10.9m.
The 31-year-old former Chelsea striker has had a huge influence on Spain’s relatively young side, leading them to the European Championship title, but has not been a popular figure with supporters due to his lack of goals.
Manchester United and Saudi Arabian clubs have also shown varying degrees of interest in the Atletico Madrid striker, but further negotiations are expected with Milan, who have shown a willingness to meet his release clause.
Although an agreement has not yet been reached, talks are continuing.
Morata made his name at Real Madrid, where he spent four seasons at the Bernabeu before joining Juventus in 2014.

Two years in Serie A allowed him to catch the eye of Chelsea, who saw the Spaniard make the leap to the Premier League in 2017, after a brief return to Real.
Morata struggled to impress at Stamford Bridge after signing for the Blues for a whopping £65million.
After 24 goals in 72 appearances, Atlético came knocking and Morata returned to the Spanish capital, albeit this time against local rivals Real Madrid.
He scored 21 goals in 48 games last season for Diego Simeone’s side but capped the summer in Sunday’s Euro 2024 final with a European champions’ medal around his neck.
