The Los Angeles Lakers have opted not to use their 2024 first-round pick to select Bronny James, as LeBron’s oldest son was completely snubbed on Wednesday night.
Potentially projected to be a top-30 pick amid his superstar father’s player option this offseason, Bronny, 19, and his entourage were nowhere to be seen at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on the first night of the draft.
Instead, LeBron posted images of himself with Bronny and his youngest son Bryce, 17, on a court in Manhattan, New York, on Instagram, captioning his post: “There’s no better feeling in the damn world than being around raising my children to MEN”. !
‘He appears here getting very excited just thinking that all of you have traveled so far! Thank you both for allowing me to be your DAD and be part of your compass through life’s trials and tribulations!’
Instead of selecting Bronny with the 17th overall pick on Wednesday, the Lakers selected guard/forward Dalton Knecht of Tennessee.
Bronny James did not receive any calls from any NBA coach or general manager on Wednesday
It will certainly be interesting to analyze Los Angeles’ movement in the draft in the coming days, as LeBron, 39, has a $51.4 million option on his contract that must be decided on Saturday.
