Los Angeles Sparks rookie Cameron Brink was carted off the court Tuesday after suffering an apparent knee injury against the Connecticut Sun.

The extent of the injury was initially unclear.

The injury occurred midway through the first quarter. Brink fell to the court after contact with Sun forward Brionna Jones while driving to the basket. He awkwardly planted his leg and immediately grabbed his left knee as he fell to the court. He struggled to stand up, but stood up with the help of his teammates.

She was able to limp to the bench on her own, but coaches took her off the court once she reached the bench.

Brink joined the Sparks as the second pick in April’s WNBA draft out of Stanford. In 14 games before Tuesday, he averaged 8.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 2.4 blocks and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 39.8% from the floor and 32.3% from a distance of 3 points.
